Background / History
Lin Yuan bought a Storm Ruins Spirit skin for 7.8 million Hunyuan Units because the lifeform was naturally attuned to wind, earth, time and space laws 37. He used a small piece of the skin to gestate his first clone in the Clone Space 40. Once born, the clone took on his appearance and began studying the Law of Space Origin while his original body pursued other cultivation 43 44.
The clone became Lin Yuan’s means of taking risks without exposing his original body. In the Nine Star Sea, it fought in World Lord-level wars under changing identities and later touched the forbidden Crystal Holy Stele 112. On the Blood Luo Continent, it used Formless to infiltrate the Immortal Temple; Lin Yuan’s original body projected illusion attacks from the Clone Space to overcome the clone’s inability to cast them itself 133. The clone subsequently dissipated and began gestating again 135.
After training on the Outer-Domain Battlefield, the clone returned to Chaos City with combat experience that helped Lin Yuan develop his own techniques 180 198. Lin Yuan continued using it for exposed roles, including meeting the Lord of Nine Nethers and acting as the Phantom Vine King to deter assassins 232 253.
In the Cosmic Sea, the clone trained against the willpower assaults of Black Pattern Pillar No. 2. Its defeat of two Fourth-Order Universe Masters contributed to its reputation as the “Smoke Cloud Palace Lord” 388 390. It later entered a Universe Boat secret chamber to study nearly ten thousand Secret Pattern diagrams 397.
Appearance
In its normal form, the clone looks like an enlarged Lin Yuan. Its appearance and size can change radically through Formless 43 44.
