Lin Yuan entered the black palace. It was pitch-black inside, so dark he could not see his hand in front of his face.
"Your Highness, I can only escort you this far. I'm not qualified to enter the palace," the black-clad World Lord said respectfully before withdrawing.
Lin Yuan was still wondering why no one had come to show him the way when the scene around him suddenly shifted. The darkness lifted, though everything remained dim.
Lin Yuan found himself standing before a dark lake.
A figure in black armor floated above the lake. He had long brown hair and blue-gray skin, and he smiled as he looked at Lin Yuan.
"So you're Lin Yuan?" Venerable An's voice sounded in Lin Yuan's mind. "Shi Huo mentioned you to me before. He said you were every bit as impressive as he was back then. Having seen you today, I can say he wasn't exaggerating."
"Greetings, Venerable," Lin Yuan said, bowing respectfully.
"Ah, you and I are equals. There's no need for that." Venerable An floated over the lake and came to stand before Lin Yuan.
"Lin Yuan, you certainly caused quite a stir here in my Nine Star Sea," Venerable Anzan said with a smile.
Lin Yuan's expression changed. Had word already gotten out that he had taken the Crystal Holy Stele? Had he caused trouble?
But Venerable An didn't look like he was about to reprimand him, so it probably wasn't a serious matter.
Seeing Lin Yuan hesitate, Venerable An got straight to the point. "Did you obtain their inheritance stele from the Illusion Moon Sea?"
Lin Yuan nodded. "I did. Do I need to return it?"
