As evening drew near, Shen Guoguo brought Jiang Linyuan to the riverside.

A bridge stretched across the river, with buildings of varying heights on the opposite bank. He couldn't tell whether they were homes or offices.

"Is this the Yongding River?"

Jiang Linyuan asked casually.

"I'm not sure."

Shen Guoguo ran over to the railing and leaned her whole body over it, squinting as she enjoyed the evening breeze. "Maybe."

"Aren't you a local? And you're the one who brought me here."

Jiang Linyuan walked over.

"Hehe."

Shen Guoguo sheepishly scratched her head.

"Actually, I've been looking up online itineraries for all the places I've taken you these past few days. I don't know what river this is, either."

"Then why bring me here?"

Jiang Linyuan asked.

"Don't you like it here?"

Shen Guoguo's voice dipped.

"If I didn't like it, I would've turned around and left already."

Jiang Linyuan ruffled her hair, then looked out at the river.

A few scattered chunks of ice floated on its surface.

Guoguo was quite sensitive, actually, just like Department Head, though they were different kinds of sensitive.

"Here..."

As he thought this, Shen Guoguo's voice sounded beside him again.

"Your red envelope. I haven't given it to you yet."

He turned his head. Shen Guoguo was clutching a red envelope and holding it out to him.

She really was giving it to him. He'd thought she was joking.

"Guoguo, if Department Head finds out I accepted this, she'll scold me again."

Jiang Linyuan smiled as he took the envelope.

There was no need to go back and forth refusing it.

"Hmph."

Shen Guoguo planted her hands on her hips, looking thoroughly authoritative.

"It's my red envelope. What can Sister Wanyu say about it?"

"I recorded that, you know?"

"...Really?"
