Something stirred in Ning Ye's heart.

He stepped out of the meditation chamber and looked west.

His brow furrowed slightly, then relaxed. "At last, there's movement? I wonder what it will be."

As he pondered, the heavens suddenly changed. The pool behind him abruptly churned, sending up a wave.

The wave took human form—it was none other than the Empress Langya, Guiling Niang.

At the sight of Guiling Niang, Ning Ye bowed. "Master!"

Guiling Niang said, "Something major has happened in the Western Region."

"What is it?"

Guiling Niang did not answer. She merely flicked her sleeve, and Ning Ye saw a colossal wave of golden sand sweeping forth, ravaging all directions at speed. Everything in its path was turning to gold.
