Background / History

The Star Feather Race has an unusually long childhood period tied to a rare hidden talent. Normally, only one bearer of this talent can exist during an era unless the prior bearer becomes an Immortal. Si Yao possessed this talent, and later disclosed that it had brought tragedy upon her mother. 31 71

At the slave market on Qiu Dragon Planet, Si Yao boldly asked the Domain Lord-level Li Yilin to accept her as his disciple. Impressed by her courage, he bought her along with other slaves and gave her an opportunity to cultivate under him. 32

Li Yilin installed Si Yao in her own palace, gave her ten servants, and instructed her to address him as “Teacher.” Though he initially called her his student rather than his formal disciple, Si Yao treated earning that recognition as a central goal of her cultivation. 33 36
