"I understand that some of you may be unhappy about this, but please rest assured that you won't be forced to take part in this exam. After all, the theme of this Special Exam is 'freedom.'
"In other words, you can decide how to spend your time on the island. Barbecues, bonfire parties, and so on are all fine.
"Before the Special Exam begins, each class will also receive 300 Points to spend during the exam.
"You can buy anything listed in this Guidebook with those Points."
After answering some of the students' questions, Mashima Tomoya continued his explanation.
"Any Points left over after seven days will be added to your Class Points.
"If anyone withdraws from this exam due to illness or other reasons, their class will lose 30 Points.
"Each class can collect an Identity Card from its homeroom teacher. The card must be registered to the class representative.
"There are several bases around the island where you can check in. You can check in once every eight hours and earn one Point each time. Other classes can't use a base during your check-in period.
"Only the class representative may check in in person with the card. You can't change representatives without a valid reason.
"At the end of the exam, you may guess the representative of another class. A correct guess will earn you 50 Points; a wrong guess will cost you 50 Points. The class whose representative is guessed will lose 50 Points, and all the Points they earned from check-ins will be void.

After Mashima Tomoya finished explaining the rules, the classes set off.
