The clubroom had lost the emptiness it once had after yesterday's decorating.
A small freezer stood in the corner, soft cushions covered the floor, and teacups and tea leaves were neatly arranged on the shelf against the wall, lending the room a cozy air.
But the club was especially quiet today. Only Uesugi Hara and Morishita Ai had arrived on time, as they had specifically agreed yesterday.
After all, today they were going to wage a "war of the century" here.
Although they had failed to buy the "pew-pew-pew" weapon Morishita Ai wanted yesterday, they had unexpectedly found something she liked.
Uesugi Hara walked to the corner, bent down, and picked up two long objects wrapped in gray cloth. He casually tossed one of them over.
Morishita Ai quickly raised a hand to catch it, then spun around and struck what she thought was an incredibly cool pose.
She hugged the long object tightly to her chest and lowered her head slightly. The breeze blowing in through the window stirred the loose strands of hair by her ears, and together with her deliberately narrowed "cold" eyes, she somehow gave off the air of an unparalleled master despite wearing her schoolgirl uniform.
But Uesugi Hara remained unmoved. He slowly untied the cloth binding that sealed the weapon, gradually revealing the outline of a wooden sword. "Private Morishita, have you thought this through?"
Morishita Ai lifted her chin slightly, her tone impossibly cool. "Uesugi Hara, words are useless! Either surrender the general's seat, or I'll personally drive you from it!"
That made Uesugi Hara laugh. He weighed the wooden sword in his hand. "What gave you the courage to challenge me? That weapon in your hand? When we tested the swords yesterday, didn't you nearly trip over yourself?"
