Background / History

Ryuen first confronts Horikita Suzune in the cafeteria, deriding Class D as “defective products” and implying that class placement reflects students’ abilities. His taunts are intended to provoke a violent response that Class C could exploit under the school’s rules. Horikita Etsuka recognizes the tactic and prevents the confrontation from escalating. 12 13

He later targets Class B at a buffet gathering, deliberately spilling food onto Amikura Mako’s skirt. Etsuka turns the incident into a public compensation demand, forcing Ryuen to transfer 100,000 points to Amikura rather than giving Class C the intimidation victory he intended. 17 18
