Chapter: Bian Continent
In the Darkness Divine Plane, a blood-red moon hung high in the sky. Boundless darkness shrouded the entire divine realm. In this sky, there was only this blood moon—no sun, no stars, and never a day.
On the Kes Continent, where the Sovereign army's headquarters was located, a dark-skinned, burly man was indulging in pleasure, living a life of debauchery. Suddenly, countless strands of Darkness Sovereign power gathered to form a giant face, radiating endless might. "Where is the Legion Commander? Come see me at once!"
The dark-skinned man was so terrified he tumbled off his bed. He hurriedly switched to his clean and proper Darkness Divine Clone, ran outside, and knelt on the ground. "Buklo pays respects to the Sovereign!"
Lincoln had just visited Dark and learned that his sphere of influence was the Kes Continent, one of the five continents, so he had come to look around. However, everything he saw along the way showed that the Sovereign legion here had long since rotted away. He could understand it, though; Aikes had been dead for who knows how many years. Previously, the Kes Continent had been managed by Aridona, but he had at most appointed a Legion Commander and would never have bothered with such trivial matters.
In fact, Sovereigns generally did not concern themselves with these chores, but it was a different matter whether the supreme boss was present or not.
Lincoln found the Legion Commander again, only to catch him in the middle of his debauchery. Lincoln, of course, would not lecture him and simply issued his orders.
"Pass on my command: from this day forth, the Kes Continent is renamed the Bian Continent, and the Kes Army is renamed the Bian Army. Furthermore, the legion must be strictly purged. If the purge is not thorough, you know the consequences! Also, compile a record of missionary activities in the Material Planes for me." Having said this, the Sovereign's giant face vanished.
"Yes, Buklo will certainly comply!" Buklo fearfully accepted the few items that materialized from the air. Opening them, he saw a book recording the new legion discipline, a magic scroll for summoning the Sovereign, and a bottle containing ten drops of Darkness Sovereign power. Seeing that the Sovereign had left, he finally let out a breath, his gaze immediately turning resolute. "I must do this immediately, otherwise I cannot bear the Sovereign's wrath. As for this legion trash, if they dare to hold me back, they can go straight to hell!"
After disciplining the Bian Army Legion Commander, Lincoln flew toward the Plane Teleportation Array once more. Bian, phonetically similar to "the other shore," represented Lincoln's desire to cross the sea of suffering, reach the other shore, and truly transcend. Although he had arduously become a Sovereign, he was still an infinite distance away from becoming a Controller. As for the legion discipline, the Sovereign army would naturally be molded into the shape he desired.
In Hell, at Mirror Moon Cliff, the soldiers fell silent and dared not speak when they saw someone arriving from another divine plane. Lincoln stepped out of the teleportation array and muttered to himself, "My luck is truly terrible this time; it took over a dozen teleports to reach Mirror Moon Cliff."
"What is wrong with you, Pusluo!" Aridona demanded sternly.
"The one who comes to grant you freedom," the voice continued to transmit. Upon hearing the word "freedom," even the golden kitten, with its astonishing endurance, could not help but tremble.
Lincoln had come to Hell primarily to find Pusluo, the Volcano Giant, and invite him to serve as his Sovereign Envoy. In this era, Magnus and Dunnington were already Paragons, but as a mid-level Sovereign, he held no hope of recruiting a Paragon as a Sovereign Envoy. Moreover, among the Paragons of the Laws, he did not want to build emotional attachments with his potential prey. Years ago, while searching for the Overgod Token, he had already learned of the existence of Aridona and Pusluo. Although he could not determine if Pusluo already possessed the strength of an Asura, Lincoln admired Pusluo; his forbearance, talent, and character were all quite good.
"How many of your Laws and Mysteries have you fused?" Lincoln asked.
"I truly envy you Sovereigns born in the Material Planes," Zijing's voice came with a hint of envy and a smile. Although she didn't finish the sentence, Lincoln knew exactly what she was envious of.
"Meow~," amidst the volcanic cluster, Aridona was stroking the golden kitten in his hands while looking at two interspatial rings sent over by the lava, laughing, "Pusluo, be good, let's see what we've gained today."
"Very good!" Lincoln laughed. At this moment, it had been countless years since the era of Linley, and he hadn't expected Pusluo to have already successfully fused five. If Pusluo were still only at three or four, Lincoln would have had to let him continue being a good little cat and endure for a while longer.
Pusluo knew that Aridona liked him best when he played the part of this cat; usually, as long as he meowed a few more times, his mistakes would be forgiven.
"Meow~," the golden kitten struggled slightly, appearing instead as if it were playing with its master.
"I'm here to take care of some business," Lincoln replied simply. Because of the original story, he had a good impression of Zijing, but since they had never interacted, they were essentially strangers.
"What's wrong, Pusluo?" Aridona continued to stroke him.
The soldiers were even more silent upon hearing this. Over a dozen teleports—what level of powerhouse must this be? The cost alone exceeded one hundred million billion inkstones, yet he appeared completely indifferent.
Lincoln watched this scene, his mouth twitching, and he fell into silence until he saw Pusluo beginning to peek around again, at which point he continued his transmission.
Gradually calming down, Pusluo finally noticed that Aridona had not detected anyone transmitting to him at all. His heart was excited yet forced to remain steady. "Meow, nothing, Master. Just had a sudden insight into the mysteries, a bit excited. Sorry, Master, meow~."
"Your way of getting along is truly unique, Pusluo," his tone inevitably carried a hint of mockery.
Lincoln had just spread his Divine Sense across the entire continent when he heard a soft female voice. "Lincoln? Why have you come to Hell?"
Sure enough, Aridona laughed. "Forgive what? I am also happy that your strength can improve."
"Thank you," Lincoln replied. "You are also welcome to visit the Chainis Plane at any time. I mostly reside in the Material Planes."
"Who exactly are you? What do you want me to do?" Pusluo also asked via transmission, his tone carrying a trace of irrepressible anger. He did not doubt for a moment that this mysterious powerhouse could do it, but it would come at a price.
"Five," Pusluo said concisely. By this point, he had roughly guessed what this powerhouse wanted to do; he likely needed a combatant at the Asura level. As a Volcano Giant, combined with the fusion of five mysteries, he was considered a powerhouse even among Asuras.
Lincoln moved his mind, breaking through all obstacles, and arrived before Aridona.
Suddenly, a voice rang out in his mind: "Pusluo, do you want freedom?"
"Who, who is it?" The golden kitten suddenly froze, its eyes turning vigilant.
"Good. If you need help, just ask. Feel free to visit the Amethyst Mountains when you have time," Zijing said gently.
It was the only female among the Destruction Sovereigns, the mid-level Sovereign Zijing. Mirror Moon Cliff belonged to the Zijing Continent; naturally, Zijing would discover Lincoln with such a large-scale scan of his Divine Sense.
"What kind of speed is this!" Aridona was shocked, but before he could react, Lincoln moved his mind, and his two Divine Clones along with his Saint Original Body were completely annihilated.
Rumble—as Aridona died, the volcanoes spreading for hundreds of miles gradually shrank and vanished. The golden kitten disappeared along with them, and a three-meter-tall burly man appeared in Lincoln's sight instead.
However, at this moment, the burly man was facing a formidable enemy. He possessed the strength of an Asura, but even he could not kill a Four-Star Fiend so silently. This figure in black attire had actually wiped out all three of Aridona's clones in an instant without a sound.
