Dark Sovereign
The Dark Sovereign clone opened its eyes, its gaze flickering with indescribable surprise and joy. He had finally become a Sovereign! He finally possessed a true place of his own in the vast Coiling Dragon World! He no longer needed to fear those high and mighty Sovereigns! Moreover, he had refined a Mid-level Sovereign Spark, and with his Sovereign-artifact-level body, he was more than capable of protecting himself as long as he did not encounter a Chief Sovereign. Compared to other Mid-level Sovereigns, he was a cut above the rest.
Lincoln quietly sensed the Willpower flowing through his Sovereign clone, his other Divine clones, and his Original Body. After the transformation by the Sovereign Spark, the Willpower obtained by the Sovereign clone's soul should be equivalent to that of a Paragon. The souls of my other Divine clones and my Original Body should be at about eighty percent of a Paragon's level. However, except for the Water Divine Clone, the other Divine clones are still in other planes searching for the Overgod Token and haven't had time to return...
Suddenly, a vast, golden torrent surged into Lincoln's soul ocean and was completely absorbed. Lincoln felt his deductive capabilities increase by a hundredfold. It is Faith Power! With such an outrageous amplification, it is no wonder that anyone who refines a Sovereign Spark can fuse different Mysteries. Unfortunately, it still couldn't help me overcome the final hurdle of fusing my Mysteries. However, with my "cheating" method of cultivation, it is normal that I didn't have a flash of inspiration this time.
Having become a Sovereign, Lincoln felt completely relaxed, and he began to pick up the things he had cast aside over the past few thousand years. With a thought, his Divine Sense spread out to cover the entire Chainis Plane. In a sprawling palace within the Alpas Empire on the continent, several nobles were enjoying an opera when, suddenly, countless strands of black Sovereign Power manifested out of thin air. They formed a massive face in the sky, radiating an intense pressure that stunned everyone present. Those below the Saint-level collapsed, nearly fainting. The few Deity-level beings looked in terror at the gentle, soft-spoken woman sitting in the center of the seating area, only to see her expression turn extremely nervous. She hurriedly stood up and knelt, leaving them astonished—what could possibly make a High-God kneel? Having never left the Material Plane, they had no concept of such a thing.
"Aier pays respects to the Sovereign. I wonder what orders the Sovereign has?" the gentle woman asked with her head bowed.
"Hahaha, Aier, can you not even recognize me?" the giant face laughed teasingly. "It has only been a few thousand years, and you have already forgotten my aura? You should be punished, definitely punished!"
Hearing this, Aier looked up, examined him carefully, and said in disbelief, "Lin-Lincoln? You became a Sovereign?!"
Lincoln laughed again upon hearing this. "That's right. From today on, the forbidden area of the Azure Sea can be lifted. The Chainis Plane shall be completely and utterly mine. Wait for me for a moment; I will be there shortly." After saying this, the giant face dissipated, leaving only Aier murmuring to herself, "He really became a Sovereign..."
As the Sovereign's pressure vanished, the crowd finally caught their breath. The Deity-level beings gathered around, and a female Low-God asked cautiously, "Lord Aier, was that just now Lord Lincoln, the King of the Plane? What does it mean to become a Sovereign?"
Aier regained her composure. "Yes, that was Lincoln. A Sovereign is a rank above the gods. Regina, you all know that after becoming a Saint-level, if one fully comprehends one Mystery, one can become a Low-God. Comprehending all the Mysteries of one element makes one a High-God. And if one fuses all the Mysteries of one element, one becomes a Paragon High-God, invincible among gods."
Another male god asked, "Then what is a Sovereign?"
Aier let out a long sigh. "A Paragon High-God is invincible among gods, but that is only at the level of gods. The ones who truly rule the heavens and earth are the Sovereigns. Even a Paragon High-God has no power to resist when facing a Sovereign."
The gods all took a deep breath. Aier was already incomparably powerful in their eyes, yet she claimed that to a Paragon, she was no different from a mortal, and that there was still such a vast gap between a Paragon and a Sovereign. The male god continued to ask, "Lord Aier, then how does one become a Sovereign?"
Just as Aier was about to speak, a deep voice resonated, "You have only comprehended one Mystery and are still far from becoming a Mid-God; isn't it a bit too early for you to be concerned about such things!" A streak of black light arrived in an instant from afar, and as the words fell, Lincoln appeared beside Aier.
Aier paused, thought for a moment, then bit her lip and bowed her head. "Greetings, Sovereign."
The male god immediately kowtowed. "Barton spoke out of turn; I beg Lord Lincoln for punishment."
Lincoln glanced at Barton. "So, you are a god born in recent years. Cultivating in the Material Plane will never take you far. Young man, you still need to go out and train more." As he spoke, he once again covered the entire plane with his Divine Sense, found every Deity-level being, and transmitted a message without using Willpower: If any Deity-level beings remain in this plane after one year, then go stay in the Plane Prison or the Spatial Turbulence!
Upon hearing this, Barton broke into a cold sweat. He wasn't afraid of Lincoln holding a grudge; rather, they all knew that if they went to the Supreme Plane or Divine Planes as Saint-levels, it would be suicide. Even if they went as gods, their lives would be precarious; only Mid-Gods could barely protect themselves. Now, because of him, everyone had to abandon their stable, high-and-mighty lives, which would surely invite resentment. He had to be the first to leave the Chainis Plane as soon as possible, which could be considered setting an example for the Lord's words!
"If there is nothing else, you may all disperse. I still have things to discuss with Aier," Lincoln said.
In the now-empty palace, Lincoln and Aier strolled together. "Over these past few thousand years, I received news of a Sovereign Spark, so I devoted myself entirely to that matter." After careful consideration, Lincoln did not mention the Overgod mission. Looking back, it still felt strange. Throughout the original story, there shouldn't have been many Deity-level beings capable of playing a role in an Overgod mission, and the only one who could complete the mission without being a Sovereign was Linley, but Linley had already been destined to become the Sovereign of Earth and Water at that time. Moreover, the Overgod of Fate's proactive explanation just now was also a bit off; usually, one would only answer if asked...
Come to think of it, if the Overgod had not agreed to grant a Sovereign Spark at that time, or if there hadn't been a suitable one, he would have been prepared to make a wish for a soul mutation and to become a Paragon. A soul mutation was indeed precious, especially the Earth-Water-Fire-Wind Quad-element Mutation, which was the only path to transcendence. He had thought about it when he first transmigrated, but once he learned he was a Seven-Law Divine Beast by birth, he gave up on it entirely. The difficulty of a successful mutation was even harder than direct transcendence, and a simple soul mutation was far inferior to becoming a Sovereign. If requesting a soul mutation didn't work, he would have requested to become a Paragon.
"So you searched for eight thousand years and finally found a Sovereign Spark?" Aier asked in return. After spending some time together and the familiar feeling returning, she wasn't as restrained, but her eyes were filled with disbelief. Who would broadcast news after obtaining something like a Sovereign Spark, and then keep it for eight thousand years without using it?
