Red Cloud Fragrance Material Plane: Three Joys at Once
Palhouse's mouth twitched. What more could you want? You were only a little short on Laws and Mysteries, and your Willpower was a little lacking. You'd fought two Paragons and drawn both times. Wasn't that worth being proud of? "I can sense that you didn't bring your Saint Original Body, Lord Lincoln, so you haven't used your Sovereign Artifact Body. Considering that you haven't reached Paragon, yet can develop techniques and fight us to a draw, your talent is unparalleled throughout history."
Lincoln had once been suspected of being a Paragon, and his Sovereign Artifact Body was quite famous.
Lincoln continued shaking his head. "What good is developing more techniques? It's still no match for fusing all the Laws and Mysteries!"
Palhouse was speechless. "That's true for other people. They may be a little short on Laws and Mysteries, but what they lack is this Willpower. But you're a Chief God, and all your Divine Clones have Willpower. That small gap in your Laws and Mysteries can be made up for with powerful ultimate moves."
Lincoln smiled faintly and waved a hand. "You don't understand, Palhouse. Becoming a Paragon is a strong man's greatest romance."
Palhouse sighed, too. How could he not understand the Chief Gods' insatiable ambitions? The Chief Gods wanted to become Paragons, and how could the Paragon High-Gods not want to refine a Sovereign Spark?
"Palhouse, what are your plans from here? Will you stay in Sain Plane, travel to other Material Planes, or return to Water Divine Plane?" Lincoln pressed. It had taken him a great deal of effort to get in touch with Palhouse, and he wasn't about to let him go easily.
Palhouse looked up at the sky and spoke slowly. "I like it here. The scenery and the local customs fascinate me. I'll probably return in a few million years, when the Plane War begins. I once promised Lady Valeria that I'd be prepared for the Plane Wars over the next few cycles, whether or not I'm needed on the battlefield."
Lincoln wasn't surprised that Palhouse worked for the Water Chief Sovereign. It made sense that she was aiming for Ten Consecutive Wins, but expecting to achieve ten straight victories on the Plane Battlefield with just one Paragon High-God was surely wishful thinking.
"In that case, I'll go with you," Lincoln said, carrying on as Palhouse's expression gradually turned stony. "I really hope to make further progress in the Laws of Water, so I'd like to spar with you often. But don't worry, you'll be well rewarded. Whether it's Water Sovereign Power, Dark Sovereign Power, or any other Sovereign Power, I'll give you as much as you need!"
Seeing Lincoln's sincerity, Palhouse couldn't bring himself to refuse. He could only answer with silence.
Lincoln truly wanted to cultivate the Laws of Water. The deeper use of the soul-based Innate Divine Ability "Whale-Swallow Silkworm-Eat" required a God Spark of the same element and at least the same level, as well as greater soul power, to have any chance of success. Palhouse was a Paragon High-God, and with Willpower bolstering him, Lincoln's Water Divine Clone was somewhat weaker. His Innate Divine Ability would never succeed.
So the only way was to cultivate on his own.
Of course, if he hunted down a Chief God and refined a Sovereign Spark, no Paragon could surpass him. But even then, success with his Innate Divine Ability wouldn't be guaranteed.
Either the other party had to be willing, or he had to overpower them as a Chief God.
Wind Lincoln stayed with Aier, Water Lincoln followed Palhouse, and the other Divine Clones either cultivated or traveled. All of them were striving to break through.
In Red Cloud Fragrance Material Plane, Daniel was already a hundred years old and had long since reached the Saint-level Limit. What comforted Lincoln a little was that Daniel had a real talent for cultivating Fate Law, and was now only one step away from becoming a Fate Element Low-God. Meanwhile, Roman, that troublesome Paragon High-God, still hadn't gone to Chainis Plane to help Lincoln with his research.
Daniel was tall and handsome, with shoulder-length silvery-white hair. He wore a red formal suit designed by Lincoln, unlike anything Aier had ever seen, and smiled at the woman before him. She was the love of his life, the woman he had loved since his youth. Now they had both reached Saint-level and were finally able to marry.
Lincoln and Aier watched with smiles. Sadly, both of their in-laws had already passed away and couldn't witness this joyful moment.
Daniel didn't know that no matter what talent his beloved Luna had, Lincoln could help her become a god in the end. But since her talent was decent and she'd reached Saint Magus before the age of a hundred, he wouldn't interfere. He encouraged her to cultivate on her own. As for his daughter-in-law's relatives, he wouldn't help them one by one. Extending their lives and resurrecting them would have to depend on Daniel's own efforts.
Daniel, who had never left a Material Plane, had no idea what sort of being his father was. He only knew that both his parents were undoubtedly Deity-level powerhouses.
The wedding was grand and lively, and soon it was time for the bride to serve tea to her new family. Aier happily handed Luna a spatial ring and instructed her, "Everything in here will come in handy, whether you're a Saint-level or become a god. Don't worry about that brat Daniel; I gave him his share long ago! And when you become a god, be sure to choose External Godhood. Otherwise, you'll regret it for the rest of your life."
Internal Godhood was a choice Aier had regretted all her life. Setting aside the extra lives it could grant, and the possibility of gaining other, better talents, if she'd chosen External Godhood, she would at least have had a chance to refine the Life Sovereign Spark.
Luna quietly committed her words to memory, but was deeply shocked. There were fewer than ten Deity-level powerhouses across all the Material Planes, even after many years of accumulation. Yet in her mother-in-law's eyes, it seemed like a level anyone could inevitably reach, without a trace of doubt.
Night soon fell, and the peak powerhouses of Red Cloud Fragrance Material Plane escorted the newlyweds into the bridal chamber. No one tried to get them drunk; ordinary wine had no effect on Saint-level powerhouses. At most, the guests might sneakily play a few tricks, hoping to embarrass the groom in front of his bride.
A commotion erupted from the bridal chamber, then abruptly stopped in the middle of the night, leaving the guests to let their imaginations run wild.
A short while later, the vast and irresistible Laws of the World descended!
Lincoln and Aier couldn't help laughing. Lincoln chided, "That little rascal! Why did he have to become a god at a time like this?"
Aier smiled and shot Lincoln a glance. "Was it up to Daniel when he became a god? Though this really is bad timing. Not only was he interrupted, but his soul has been split in two and will be much weaker. I hope he remembers there are Soul Gold Beads in his spatial ring and refines them in time to replenish his soul power."
Lincoln continued to tease him. "What good will it do if he remembers to refine them? Is he going to make his bride wait all night?"
Jokes aside, both Lincoln and Aier were delighted. The invited powerhouses were more astonished than anything else. This meant that another 'invincible' Deity-level powerhouse had appeared on the continent.
The night passed peacefully...
Early the next morning, Daniel and Luna emerged, beaming with joy, and paid their respects to his parents again. Then Lincoln suddenly focused on Luna and smiled. "Luna, are you pregnant?"
Aier hadn't understood at first, but she, too, focused on Luna. When she sensed a faint life force taking shape in Luna's belly, she burst out laughing and hurried over to help her up. "Get up, quickly. You have to take good care of yourself and give us a healthy, chubby grandchild!"
