That was indeed the case.
After being caught off guard at the start, Polka reacted swiftly. He endured the paralysis and unleashed his magic power. In an instant, it was as though a tidal wave had burst from within him, successfully blasting away Quintina as she approached again.
He finally gained some relief and began another summon before even landing. But Quintina's summon was faster and came sooner, as if she had anticipated his response in advance. Though her body was still flying backward through the air, a Magitech Card in her hand had already activated.
An instant later, a bolt of lightning as thick as a colossal pillar violently surged from the face of that Magitech Card.
The recoil from releasing the lightning sent Quintina flying backward even faster.
That lightning struck Polka before he could complete his first summon.
Polka's Life Points plummeted in that instant, and his body fell into paralysis once more. A look of frustration immediately appeared on his face; clearly, his mentality had been affected as well.
After establishing a sufficient early advantage, Quintina instead began to fight steadily. Every attack and defense anticipated her opponent's moves, leaving no room to find fault.
Compared to her, Polka was clearly far inferior.
His failure to respond at the start had cost him the initiative. One wrong step led to another, and he found it increasingly difficult to keep going.
Many spectators had been waiting for him to suddenly use the "Abyss Summoning Spell" to turn the tide.
But Polka did not do so.
It was as if he truly had not mastered the "Abyss Summoning Spell," placing all his hopes on the "God Card" he had yet to draw.
But the strength of his deck truly spoke for itself.
As expected of a royal-exclusive deck
