Background & History
The Death Star Vine is an exceptionally rare lifeform seed given to Su Ke by the entity within the Stone Gate. It is born on newly formed life planets and grows by devouring lifeforms, vegetation, metals, rocks, and the planet’s vitality. Its seed had been specially modulated so that Su Ke could bond with it using his blood alone. 53 60
Su Ke hatched the vine deep within a planet’s mantle. After it absorbed a large quantity of his blood, it emerged as a black metallic vine and wrapped around his wrist. He named it “Death Star,” treating its simple attachment to him like that of a child toward a parent. 60 61
To cultivate it, Su Ke fed it uninhabited life-bearing planets while attempting to conceal its existence. Its growth devastated Qianye Planet from beneath the surface, eventually allowing it to reach the Universe Rank and turn the planet into a near-apocalyptic wasteland. 53 54 78
The vine later consumed Ten Thousand Star Stone, received the Nebula Heart, and reached the peak World Lord Rank. It subsequently became an Immortal lifeform—apparently the first Death Star Vine known to accomplish this—and gained intelligence and speech. Su Ke then named it Xiao Xing. 233 271 286
After Su Ke became Hulao’s disciple, he chose to risk immense resources on Xiao Xing’s evolution to Universe Venerable. Hulao personally conducted the breakthrough, feeding it rare treasures, manipulating local time flow, and hammering its body as though forging a weapon. Xiao Xing endured more than three months of golden lightning before successfully advancing. 391 392 393
Appearance
The Death Star Vine’s natural body changes dramatically as it evolves, from a fist-sized metallic seed into a colossal vine lifeform spanning nearly ten million kilometers at the Immortal stage. 53 286
- Its seed is fist-sized, with a metallic luster and texture. 53
- Its early body is a cold, pitch-black vine with a metal-like surface. 61
- It possesses one main vine and 10,081 branch vines, which may overlap into a single visible body or separate into a vast vine mass. 53 61
- At Immortal Rank, its vines become crystal-clear, covered in mysterious secret patterns and starlike radiance. 286
- It can shrink to a tiny vine, merge into Su Ke’s skin, or manifest as a pitch-black battle suit. 65 79
- At the Universe Venerable breakthrough, its colossal crystalline body bears translucent leaves and occupies an area nearly ten million kilometers across. 393
Abilities & Skills
Planetary Devouring and Evolution
The Death Star Vine consumes life-bearing planets from within, converting their matter and vitality into growth.
- A single ordinary life planet can raise it to the Universe Rank in roughly three years. 53
- It requires life planets rather than mineral planets; conventional planetary feeding from Universe Rank 1 to 9 requires thousands of such planets and over a hundred years. 53 54
- It can progress through the Domain Lord and World Lord Ranks without bottlenecks through continued feeding. 53
- Planetary devouring causes fatal ecological erosion, earthquakes, fissures, volcanic activity, and possible planetary collapse. 53 78
- Planet-related materials such as Ten Thousand Star Stone, the Nebula Heart, and rare treasures can accelerate or enable higher evolutions. 137 138 233 393
Half-Metal Physiology
Its hybrid nature grants the defensive qualities of metal lifeforms and the vitality of plant lifeforms.
- Its hardness surpasses top-tier metal lifeforms, while its vitality surpasses ordinary plant life. 53
- Even immediately after hatching, it withstands planetary magma without visible damage. 61
- Its vines are tough, sharp, and capable of resisting laser weapons that would threaten ordinary combatants. 121
- At Immortal Rank, it possesses an Undying Body: its divine power can reassemble unless annihilated beyond its limit. 286
- Its battle armor provides exceptional physical defense and cushioning, but cannot defend against soul attacks. 336
Entanglement and Suppression
The vine’s primary offensive method is to spread, bind, constrict, and crush opponents.
- Its 10,081 branches can separate into tens of thousands of vines for large-area attacks. 61
- It massacres the Blood Spring Society by filling the battlefield with rapidly multiplying vines. 110
- At Universe Rank Level 5, it can strangle same-rank martial artists and contend with human Universe Rank 9 combatants. 121
- It immobilizes enemies by binding their movement, allowing Su Ke’s allies to attack restrained targets. 136
- As a King-Level Limit Immortal, it traps Lie Tuo King within millions of kilometers of thorn-covered vines and forces him into self-destruction. 337
- It can expand its divine body across nearly ten million kilometers, making escape difficult even for powerful Immortals. 337
Battle Armor and Possession
The Death Star Vine can merge with Su Ke’s body as a close-fitting combat suit, sharing its power and protection.
- Its battle suit was already more protective than some Tier 1 Force Battle Suits at birth. 61
- After reaching Universe Rank, it forms a full black suit with helmet, boots, and gloves. 79
- Possession lets Su Ke wield overwhelming physical force, though he cannot execute secret techniques as perfectly as with his own strength. 53 79
- The suit concealed the vine’s presence from scans, enabling Su Ke to overwhelm opponents who believed him to be only Stellar Rank Level 6. 108
- It protects Su Ke from King-Level Peak impacts and self-destruction shockwaves that would otherwise be lethal. 333 337
Divine Power Burning
As an Immortal, Xiao Xing can burn divine power to increase its combat strength.
- Burning divine power massively intensifies its aura, vine strength, and battlefield pressure. 337 358
- It can use its enormous divine body to shield Su Ke while absorbing attacks meant to prevent him from claiming a Sealing Star. 361
- Burning power and taking sustained attacks can greatly damage its divine body, reducing its combat strength until it recovers. 361 363
Limitations
- It is absolutely bound to Su Ke: if he dies, it dies, and no other person can use it after it recognizes him as master. 53 61
- Su Ke and the vine can communicate telepathically only within a certain range. 65
- Its immense size and planetary feeding requirements make secrecy difficult; Su Ke deliberately limits its early cultivation to avoid exposure. 54 138
- Its growth beyond the Immortal Rank requires extraordinary resources and carries a significant failure risk. Its Universe Venerable breakthrough initially had only a one-in-three chance of success. 391 392
- Although its armor is extraordinarily effective against physical attacks, it offers no defense against soul attacks. 336
Relationships
- Su Ke — Master, lifelong bonded partner, and caretaker. Su Ke regards the vine as his child and most important companion, while Xiao Xing is wholly loyal to him. 61 271 372 393
- Hulao — Su Ke’s teacher, who personally supplied resources and conducted Xiao Xing’s successful evolution to Universe Venerable. 392 393
- Entity in the Stone Gate — Mysterious benefactor that gave Su Ke the specially modulated Death Star Vine seed. 53 54
- Eloy — Su Ke’s partner and frequent battlefield ally; her plant lifeforms fight alongside Xiao Xing. 328 329 337
