Wu Yun had known from the beginning that he couldn't hide anything from Ancestor Bodhi.
No matter how many layers of spatial dimensions the Three Realms had, its actual area was only about ten billion kilometers across. Any True God Dao Ancestor could encompass the entire Three Realms.
What's more, Bodhi was a Dao Ancestor of Space-Time.
If Wu Yun had been only a Void Return Earth Immortal, Bodhi might not have paid him any attention. But Wu Yun's talent rivaled Hou Yi's, and he had mastered the fifth level of power while still a Heavenly God.
By now, no one knew just how powerful Wu Yun was. Ancestor Bodhi treated him as a leader-level figure, so how could he not pay attention to what Wu Yun did in his daily life?
Just as Lord of Heart Demons would keep a close watch on the Three Pure Ones, Tathagata, and the others.
"Why are you looking for Star-Plucking Mansion?" Ancestor Bodhi asked coldly. "True God Dongque, Sanshou died in the Primordial War. You shouldn't have had much to do with him."
"I need one of the Xiantian Supreme Treasures he left behind," Wu Yun replied quickly. "I'm not asking for it outright. I want to trade for it."
"An Xiantian Supreme Treasure?" Ancestor Bodhi wasn't entirely sure what Sanshou had left behind. After a moment's thought, he replied, "I'll bring that Loose Immortal Juhua here first."
With that, Ancestor Bodhi reached out and grabbed at empty space, pulling a young man over.
His mastery of the Path of Space-Time was so profound that he could pluck even Heavenly Immortals from afar. Immortal Juhua had been cultivating in the Immortal Mansion, and suddenly found himself here for no apparent reason.
"Me? What is this?!" Immortal Juhua looked around in confusion. He recognized the black-robed Emperor Xia. Wasn't that the ruler of the Great Xia World, the legendary Pure Yang True Immortal?
Why was he standing so meekly below the others?
Turning his head, he saw a green-haired elder, the white-haired elder who had brought him here, and Wu Yun, whose black hair flowed like a waterfall. Emperor Xia's aura was terrifying, but Immortal Juhua could still sense it.
The auras of Wu Yun and the other two, however, were far beyond anything he could fathom.
If they deliberately released their pressure, Immortal Juhua would be crushed to the point that his soul would scatter.
"Juhua, this is my master, Dao Ancestor Chiming. These are True God Dongque and Dao Ancestor Bodhi. They have something to ask you," Emperor Xia reminded him.
"Dao Ancestors?!"
Immortal Juhua's heart trembled. He quickly realized why a Dao Ancestor had brought him here: it had to be because of the Immortal Mansion's legacy.
Although he didn't know what truly lay at the heart of Star-Plucking Mansion, he knew it was far more than it appeared to be. He'd never imagined it was something that would draw True God Dao Ancestors into action.
These were True God Dao Ancestors! Even Heavenly Immortals might never get the chance to meet such figures. Immortal Juhua had only ever heard of them; he'd never thought he'd actually meet them.
"Juhua pays his respects to the three Dao Ancestors." Immortal Juhua bowed respectfully, then said, "You're here for the Water Mansion, aren't you? I'll take it out now."
He didn't think he could lie to a Dao Ancestor and get away with it.
The fact that they hadn't simply searched his soul was already a kindness. Immortal Juhua hurriedly took out a beautiful little mansion.
Inside Star-Plucking Mansion, Yellow-Haired Great Bear had been panicking. But when he saw Ancestor Bodhi outside, he finally relaxed.
Sanshou and Bodhi had been close friends who'd faced life and death together. Bodhi had even helped forge Star-Plucking Mansion, allowing it to wander freely through the Three Realms without being discovered.
As the greatest master of the Path of Space-Time in the Three Realms, Bodhi could hide anything so well that even peak Ancestor Gods wouldn't be able to find it.
Whoosh~
Yellow-Haired Great Bear appeared in the ancient hall. It immediately knelt before Ancestor Bodhi. "Your humble servant pays his respects to the Dao Ancestor."
"Alas." Ancestor Bodhi had already guessed the truth, but seeing Yellow-Haired Great Bear in person still stirred his heart. His old friend had been gone for countless years, yet the bear still hadn't found a suitable successor.
Immortal Juhua was merely a Loose Immortal, not even a Void Return cultivator. He had no chance of learning Sanshou's divine ability.
"Dao Ancestor, how did you find Star-Plucking Mansion?" The question Yellow-Haired Great Bear cared about most was whether Sanshou was alive or dead.
If Dao Ancestor Chiming and Wu Yun hadn't been there, he would have asked already.
"It wasn't Bodhi who found you. It was me." Wu Yun took over. "Sanshou left some treasures in Star-Plucking Mansion. One of them is something I need. I'm willing to trade other treasures for it."
Yellow-Haired Great Bear had far broader horizons than Immortal Juhua. Wu Yun's aura was as imposing as Sanshou's had once been. It was obvious he was a True God.
"Treasure?" Yellow-Haired Great Bear thought of the three treasures, though it didn't know what any of them were. It shook its head at once. "According to my master's command, only the next Mansion Lord may inherit them."
The spirit of a magic treasure was absolutely loyal to its master's orders, but it wasn't entirely inflexible. If Wu Yun had asked for any other treasure, Yellow-Haired Great Bear would have agreed immediately.
Wu Yun said calmly, "The treasure I'm offering in exchange is far better than what Sanshou left behind. And I urgently need this particular treasure. I hope you won't refuse."
Yellow-Haired Great Bear looked to Ancestor Bodhi.
How could it refuse a True God? It wasn't just Yellow-Haired Great Bear—even if all seven Heavenly Gods of Star-Plucking Mansion came out and formed the Seven Luminaries Heavenly God Formation under Hong Xue's lead, they would still be crushed.
Wu Yun had phrased it politely, saying he hoped they wouldn't refuse, but his meaning was clear: he was determined to get it.
Ancestor Bodhi was just as reluctant to offend Wu Yun. After a moment's thought, he replied, "Little Yellow-Haired Bear, True God Dongque certainly won't cheat you when it comes to the value of the treasure. I think you should at least take a look at what kind of Supreme Treasure he's offering."
Bodhi and Sanshou had indeed been close friends who'd faced life and death together. If Wu Yun had wanted to slaughter everyone in Star-Plucking Mansion and destroy its legacy, Bodhi would naturally have stood up to him.
But Wu Yun only wanted to trade for a treasure. How could Bodhi refuse over such a small matter?
Dao Ancestor Chiming also chimed in. "Let's take a look first."
No one could have guessed that the so-called Xiantian Ultimate Spirit Treasure was actually a legacy connected to a true great power, one that allowed its wielder to gather the power of Blue Flower Mist.
Wu Yun already possessed fifth-level Heart Power. Once he comprehended the Heavenly Dao and became a Dao Ancestor, the union of his three powers might make him a match for a peak Ancestor God.
An Ancestor God who united all three powers could match a World Realm expert with the added advantage of his realm.
"Please forgive me, Dao Ancestors," Yellow-Haired Great Bear sighed. "Those three treasures can only be obtained by the next Mansion Lord. The formation restriction cannot be bypassed otherwise."
Sanshou had guarded his legacy with extreme care.
The Star-Plucking Hand, in particular, was a divine ability that had to be cultivated from a weak stage.
Heavenly Gods and True Gods couldn't cultivate it at all. Otherwise, Sanshou would simply have passed the Star-Plucking Hand on to Hong Xue.
"It's a formation restriction. Sanshou was a True God when he was alive, but his mastery was still inferior to Bodhi's and Chiming's. With some time, we should be able to dismantle it."
Wu Yun actually had another option. The Star-Plucking Hand was certainly a divine ability that couldn't be passed on to Heavenly Gods or True Gods, but Void-Returning God-Demons might still have a chance.
He could find a way to send his True Immortal Wu Yun clone then.
But unless it became absolutely necessary, Wu Yun really didn't want to inherit the title of Mansion Lord of Star-Plucking Mansion. It wouldn't help him much. It was better to leave it for Ji Ning in the future.
