Could someone defeat a near-Invincible King in three moves?
That was something only a true Invincible King could do. Silver Eye in Ice Prison, for instance, or King Zhenyan, or Luo Feng after fifty thousand years of wandering the universe.
"Arrogant!" King Zujin roared. "You think you can defeat me in three moves? Who do you think you are, King Jiujian?"
King Jiujian had an illustrious reputation. He was a true Invincible King who swept all before him, and many of humanity's higher-ups believed he would most likely break through to become a Universe Venerable.
Wu Yun didn't answer. He gripped his long staff and charged forward. Divine power surged within him, and Killing Power paved his path as a blood-red river stretched across the starry sky.
His understanding of the Dao of Slaughter was profound, and his every move brimmed with mystery. His aura was even more terrifying than Venerable Nuoqi's. King Zujin felt as though he were facing an ancient beast.
His divine power erupted. The long staff seemed to stretch for hundreds of millions of miles, filling the cosmic sea of stars. An endless sea of blood appeared, strewn with countless Monster Race corpses. King Zujin stared blankly, overcome with fear.
"Don't think you can shake my mind!" King Zujin gritted his teeth. At the final moment, he regained his senses, and his towering serpentine body lashed out, whipping up a gale that stretched for a million miles.
But when he looked again, the staff was nowhere near hundreds of millions of miles long. Wu Yun's move had actually carried an illusory scene.
Slaughter was inherently steeped in extreme emotions. Wu Yun was also a Heart Power cultivator, and by combining those two forces, he could easily conjure an illusion of mountains of corpses and seas of blood.
The staff fell, crushing the million-mile gale, then slammed into King Zujin's body, cracking part of his Divine Body. It healed quickly, but the damage had been done.
"What?!"
"He broke King Zujin's Divine Body with one move?"
The onlookers could hardly believe it. Breaking his Divine Body hadn't caused any real damage, but it was still an astonishing feat.
Across the Outer Realm Battlefield, among the countless Kings, how many could claim to be able to break King Zujin's Divine Body? Even beings like King Yuyuan and the Bug Race Mother Emperor couldn't be completely certain.
King Zujin's expression darkened. He hadn't had time to activate his defensive Heavy Treasure, or even unleash his strongest attack.
Wu Yun's Soul Attack had clouded his judgment. By the time he escaped the illusion, the attack was already upon him, leaving him no choice but to respond hastily.
"Die!"
Wu Yun attacked again. Endless waves surged forth, then froze under the Frost Domain, turning into boundless Icebergs that stretched across the starry sky, larger than stars. They swept down upon King Zujin.
"King Muchen's domain Heavy Treasure, used like this?"
Patterns suddenly appeared on King Zujin's tail, then brown crystals spread over it. The crystal layer was itself a Heavy Treasure.
With the Heavy Treasure protecting him, King Zujin swung his tail. Its immense power shattered the starry sky, and endless flames surged out, seeking to melt the Icebergs. He had comprehended Space Law and had studied lower-level laws such as fire as well.
The two attacks collided, but there was no earth-shattering explosion as one might expect. Instead, they gradually eroded each other, filling the area with billowing steam that stretched for a billion kilometers and blurred everyone's vision.
"You said you'd defeat me in three moves. Is that all you've got?" King Zujin sneered. "King Black Rod, you'd better keep training."
Boom!
The Icebergs suddenly exploded. Countless shards tore through the void at incredible speed. Even millions of planets would have been destroyed by them.
"Child's play." King Zujin wasn't impressed. Even an attack capable of destroying a star felt like a breeze against him.
But his smile soon vanished. Behind the endless white and blue shards were countless black iron rods, arranged in a strange formation.
Whish! Whish! Whish!
The black rods shot out. This was a technique from Wu Yun's Qi Refining Path, controlled by Heart Power at the fifth level.
"Isn't he a warrior? How can he use Spirit Reader techniques?" King Zujin's mind was full of questions. And what kind of psychokinetic weapons were those black rods?
He had never heard of such weapons, let alone seen an attack like this.
The formation was more than it appeared. Wu Yun had made the Dao of Slaughter its core, then combined it with light and darkness. He had named this move the Samsara Absolute Kill Formation.
In the Desolate Era world, Wu Yun had relied on nothing more than a Third-Grade Golden Core and fifth-level Heart Power to defeat a True God Dao Ancestor despite the difference in power.
The countless iron rods faintly outlined a diagram of light and dark samsara. Heart Power battered King Zujin's mind, and countless corpses appeared before his eyes once more.
"Everyone will die. Everyone will die..."
The corpses of the Monster Race seemed to wail in anguish, shaking King Zujin's resolve.
"No!!!" King Zujin roared. Treasures and secret techniques protected the depths of his soul, so he broke free from the illusion after only a brief moment of distraction.
But by then, the black rods were right in front of him.
Boom!
King Zujin could only use every means at his disposal to defend himself, but it was too late. The dense mass of iron rods smashed his Divine Body to pieces!
Only his serpentine tail remained.
Breaking an opponent's Divine Body in three moves might not have caused any lasting damage, but in a sparring match, it was enough to declare Wu Yun the victor.
Whoosh!
Wu Yun's figure flashed like Flowing Light as he rushed toward Venerable Nuoqi's legacy. The dozen or so Heavy Treasures were falling slowly, with the prison at the very bottom.
They would take about eight minutes to reach the prison.
"I lost?!" King Zujin was furious and unwilling to accept it. As soon as his Divine Body re-formed, he raced after Wu Yun, unleashing all kinds of long-range attacks to prevent him from accelerating to the speed of light.
Being defeated only proved that his skill was inferior, but it wouldn't stop him from competing for the treasures.
Their power was comparable. In King Zujin's view, he had lost because of Wu Yun's illusion techniques, which had slowed his reactions with every attack.
A Peak King Soul Master could rival a King-level limit expert in status and overall strength.
With Wu Yun's strength, which appeared to be close to that of an Invincible King, and his Soul Attack techniques, he could be considered a pseudo-Invincible King.
King Yuyuan and the Mother Emperor Linyun were also closing in on the area where the Heavy Treasures were falling.
The Kings following behind the four powerhouses hoped to take advantage of the chaos and snatch whatever they could.
Rumble!
Countless Kings were fighting. The chaos was so great that most had already given up hope of obtaining the Heavy Treasures. Instead, they planned to slaughter weaker opponents while their numbers gave them cover.
Whenever a King was separated from the others in the melee, they would join forces to kill him and then fight over his World Ring.
Blood and fire mingled. Wu Yun occasionally killed a few Kings and took their World Rings as he passed. This stretch of road was only ten thousand kilometers long, yet it became the burial ground of countless Kings.
Just then, another figure arrived on the battlefield. It was King Qitian, from one of the affiliated races of the Bug Race Alliance. He had only just reached the battlefield after using Divine Kingdom Teleportation and traveling through the Dark Universe.
King Qitian stood a full thirteen meters tall, and his Divine Body was extraordinary. He was a member of the Wuling Race, a powerful race in the universe.
With his arrival, the battle finally reached its boiling point.
