Hou was a legendary divine beast. It had originally been a part of Pangu's body. After Pangu created heaven and earth, his body transformed into the earth and all things in the universe, while his head became Hou. Since Hou had been formed from Pangu's head, it possessed Pangu's wisdom and power.
He was the progenitor of zombies, with the power to contend against ancient gods like Nuwa, Haotian, and Fuxi.
