Where had this fearless little brat come from?
His business across the Four Blues was based mainly in the North Blue. As for the other three seas, he had already started making inroads after successfully taking Dressrosa.
And it hadn't even been that long, yet someone was already picking a fight with him?
Did they really think Doflamingo's blade had gone dull?
"Doffy?"
Seeing the look on his young master's face, Trebol knew Doflamingo was about ready to explode with rage.
It was practically like someone had gotten right up in his face and started mouthing off. With Doflamingo's temperament, there was no way he could tolerate it.
If the other party had been a powerful fighter, that would have been one thing.
But what kind of strong fighter could be found in the East Blue, where even a bunch of worthless pirates could make trouble?
"Send someone. I want to hear that man wailing as soon as possible!"
Doflamingo ordered darkly.
"Of course, Doffy. I'll arrange for someone to go to the East Blue, but Garp recently returned there, so it wouldn't be wise to make too much noise."
As the Hero of the Marines, Garp's every move attracted plenty of attention.
By now, at least everyone connected to the East Blue's various forces knew that Garp had returned.
"That old man went back? What for?"
Doflamingo paused and turned to look at Trebol.
"It seems he went to look for someone. We haven't found out who yet."
Trebol hesitated before answering.
"It's just some brat. He won't cause any trouble."
Doflamingo didn't want to wait.
Now even some unknown brat dared to provoke him?
"Behehehehe! Doffy, why get angry over some brat? We have greater things to do. But since you've said so, I'll send someone right away. Soon enough, you'll see that brat's head."
With that, Trebol, his body covered in mucus, turned and left.
Doflamingo watched him go, picked up the glass of red wine in front of him, and looked out the window.
Below lay Dressrosa, still being rebuilt, with large numbers of toy people walking through the streets.
The sounds of fighting continued.
Most pirates were vicious, and now their fighting showed it in all its grisly detail.
Dunn watched calmly as a single remark from him had sparked a bloody battle across Trading Island.
The original story had rarely shown what happened after pirates attacked.
After all, most of the time, the story followed Monkey D. Luffy.
Just look at the wanted posters in Dunn's hands. The pirates on them didn't have very high bounties, but each had dozens of lives on their hands at the very least, and some had killed hundreds.
When they attacked an island, some might loot its valuables and kill anyone who resisted.
But others did it simply for the pleasure of taking lives.
"The young master won't let you get away with this."
Even after Dunn put away the Den Den Mushi, the Donquixote Family member with the Devil Fruit ability still wouldn't back down.
"Mm, I know!"
Dunn glanced at him and nodded.
"You..."
Dunn's response left the man at a loss for words.
After all, their forces in the East Blue were far too small. None of the officers would come all the way here to handle things personally. The fact that they'd sent an ability user like him already showed they took the matter seriously.
So no matter what threats he made now, they came off like a defeated dog barking pointlessly.
Dunn's attitude only made him feel that way even more.
"So tell me, do you think Doflamingo will send someone to kill me?"
Seeing the man's eyes widen, Dunn asked.
"Of course. The young master will definitely send an officer here. You're as good as dead."
"I see. So you're a pirate too?"
Dunn nodded slightly.
"I'm a great pirate from the North Blue. Before I met the young master, my bounty was twenty-three million!"
Dunn's words seemed to strike a nerve. The ability user lifted his chin and answered proudly.
Well, that was an unexpected bonus.
Dunn's eyes lit up, and he grinned.
The Shichibukai Doflamingo's bounty had already been revoked, and the Navy had canceled the bounties of his subordinates who had had them too.
But this guy might just be one of Doflamingo's small fry.
"So your bounty is still active?"
Dunn asked curiously.
"Of course. I'm famous throughout the North Blue."
"That's good."
Dunn nodded repeatedly.
These pirates treated Navy bounties as something to brag about.
Even in the middle of a fight, they'd proudly announce that they were great pirates with bounties worth so-and-so much, as if that would let them overpower their opponents.
Or maybe that was the fiercest threat these pirates could think of?
With that thought, Dunn stopped paying attention to the man.
Twenty-three million, plus the pirates he'd already seen and the ones hiding in town. He might bring in tens of millions in bounties this time—seventy or eighty million, maybe even over a hundred million.
The sea really was full of gold.
The great pirates of the New World had bounties worth hundreds of millions, even billions or tens of billions.
Hunting them wouldn't be as easy as this.
Find a gathering of pirates, then wipe them all out in one go.
Now he seemed to understand why the first island after entering the Grand Line was a gathering place for Pirate Hunters.
It was like golden beans were coming straight to him.
"Then again, once those guys get stronger, they don't seem to fight the weak."
Dunn rubbed his chin, trying to figure out how people in this world thought so he could imitate them and think the same way.
It wasn't hard to understand.
The fighting on Trading Island was almost over. Dunn had left a few times in the meantime.
Some had tried to escape using a ship they'd hidden on the other side. They were now at the bottom of the sea.
The survivors had all returned obediently.
They'd even thoughtfully brought over the pirates with bounties from the town. The dead ones' heads had been brought along too.
"Board the ship!"
Dunn stood beside the largest pirate ship and watched the pirates board one by one. Just like with Doru before, as soon as Dunn got on board, he ordered them to set sail. Their destination was Marine Branch 16.
Even though Dunn was alone, the pirates obediently did as they were told. Each took a task suited to their abilities, turned the pirate ship around, and sailed away.
Dunn sat at the bow, looking at the large group of pirates crouched on the deck with their hands over their heads.
"Do you think the Navy will pay for pirates without bounties?"
The ability user sat beside Dunn, though he was now missing an arm.
It had happened earlier, when Dunn had left to deal with the pirates who'd run off. The man had tried to escape and had been hit by one of Dunn's Flying Slashes.
At Dunn's question, the man looked at him in terror.
"They do. Usually, they calculate the bounty based on the captain's."
"You sure know a lot."
Dunn was surprised.
"Well, back in the North Blue, I was sometimes ordered to take pirates to a Marine Base to collect their bounties."
The man now answered every question he was asked.
But in truth, he felt relieved.
If they were taking him to a Marine Base, at least he wouldn't be killed.
Besides, he was one of the Shichibukai's subordinates. Even if the Navy arrested him, they would let him go.
That had already been proven before.
