My Life Is in Danger!

Qin Yue and the Shrek group left in different directions, then took a long detour for two hours before returning to Star Dou Forest.

Before he could speak, Qiu'er, who had long been waiting anxiously, darted out from her hiding place. Under Scarlet King's stunned gaze, she pounced on Qin Yue and knocked him to the ground, then affectionately began licking his face.

"Sure enough, you smell so good~"

Feeling the wetness on his face, Qin Yue laughed awkwardly twice. Qiu'er was far more enthusiastic than he had expected, catching him completely off guard and turning the seasoned master into the one beaten to death by random punches.

It took Qin Yue a full three minutes to persuade Qiu'er to let him go. Only then did he scramble miserably back to his feet.

As though she knew she had done something wrong, Qiu'er lay obediently beside him after releasing him, looking as if she would neither fight back when hit nor talk back when scolded. Qin Yue did not know whether to laugh or cry.

Scarlet King, still hiding in the forest, was now completely unable to make sense of the situation. Its gaze kept shifting back and forth between Qin Yue and Qiu'er.

After wiping the saliva from his face, Qin Yue finally had time to carefully examine the enormous creature beside him. Though he stood a full 1.8 meters tall, he still appeared somewhat "scrawny" before Qiu'er, whose body was at least three meters long and whose shoulder height alone reached 1.8 meters.

Qiu'er possessed an exceptionally imposing appearance. Her entire body was covered in a layer of brilliant golden fur, which resembled translucent crystal and carried an unusual texture. From their brief close contact earlier, Qin Yue had learned that this fur was incredibly soft, making it impossible to put down.

Qiu'er's overall form resembled that of a Lion, but her four claws were like those of a dragon, each resting atop a cluster of golden flames. Her muzzle was also somewhat longer than that of an ordinary lion-type Soul Beast, and fine scales could be seen beneath her fur.

Of course, the most eye-catching feature was Qiu'er's third eye. It was a vertical pupil located between her brows, radiating an eerie red light completely unlike that of her other two eyes.

After waiting for a while and realizing that Qin Yue did not seem inclined to scold her, Qiu'er began fidgeting again. She secretly adjusted her posture, wanting to see whether she could pin Qin Yue down again and lick him to her heart's content.

Qin Yue raised a hand and rubbed Qiu'er's massive beast head, smiling softly. "All right, you've seen me now. So what exactly did you want to give me?"

"Qin Yue, don't move. It'll be done soon~"

Only then did Qiu'er remember her escape plan. After glancing sideways in Scarlet King's direction, she took the initiative to move closer to Qin Yue and pressed the vertical eye glowing with eerie red light against the center of his brow.

"My life is in danger!"

The instant that vertical eye touched Qin Yue's forehead, both his and Qiu'er's bodies shuddered violently. Hidden in the woods, Scarlet King sensed the Auspicious Beast's aura beginning to decline. Its eyes split with rage as the aura unique to a Beast of Calamity erupted, driving every Soul Beast in the surrounding area away.

The next instant, Scarlet King appeared beside the human and beast. It immediately discovered that Qin Yue and Qiu'er's auras had become utterly fused, like the two sides of the same thing. They would flourish together and suffer together. Scarlet King had intended to bite Qin Yue to death to save the Auspicious Beast, but it froze, unsure what to do next.

If anything truly happened to the Auspicious Beast here, Scarlet King was certain Di Tian would not let it off easily. Even The Master might awaken because of this!

At the same time, Qin Yue felt his mind fall blank. His Sea of Spirit, which had previously been unable to take shape, emerged as naturally as water flowing into a channel. Rings of strange, distorted halos were born within the Sea of Spirit. They quickly transformed from illusory into solid forms, completely enveloping Qin Yue and Qiu'er.

Within the halos, Qin Yue and Qiu'er's bodies began turning transparent, flickering in and out of sight with the flashing light.

As Scarlet King paced back and forth in agitation, the distorted light surrounding Qin Yue and Qiu'er suddenly blazed. An overwhelming force that allowed no refusal burst forth, forcibly pushing Scarlet King, who had been standing guard five meters away, all the way back to thirty meters.

Qin Yue's consciousness gradually recovered. To his surprise, his Sea of Spirit had already fully manifested, and it was more than ten times larger than what Qin Haichuan had described. The entire Sea of Spirit was filled with warm golden light, with an indescribably wondrous power hidden within it.

A layer of golden light suddenly erupted from where Qin Yue and Qiu'er touched. He instinctively took a step back, staring blankly at Qiu'er.

Qiu'er appeared somewhat weak, and her gaze toward Qin Yue was filled with uncertainty. When she completed Fate Guidance with Qin Yue, the ability that should have allowed her to see all of the other party's memories had malfunctioned. She had seen only a tiny portion, but even that tiny portion was something she could not accept no matter what.

She wanted to rise from the ground, only to find that her limbs were still weak. So she simply asked through their spiritual connection, "Qin Yue... those things in your memories... about me, were they real?"

Though Qin Yue had yet to fully recover from Fate Guidance, he could still hear the overwhelming grief in Qiu'er's voice, as well as her intense urge for self-destruction. Ignoring Scarlet King nearby, who was watching him like a tiger and could pounce at any moment, he hurriedly soothed her in a soft voice:

"Qiu'er, calm down first. Didn't you notice that I never existed in those memories? We met because of fate, and your original fate will likewise be rewritten because of it."

"Just like now, I'm the one who completed Fate Guidance with you, and I'm also the one who established a spiritual connection with you. Everything has already departed from the original fate."

A few traces of light suddenly rose in Qiu'er's lifeless eyes. She forced herself up from the ground and blocked Scarlet King's view of Qin Yue, silently making her stance clear.

Scarlet King's six eyes narrowed slightly upon understanding the Auspicious Beast's meaning. However, it had not intended to kill that human before figuring out what had happened. After letting out a low roar to remind the Auspicious Beast to be careful, it vanished back into the forest.

I'm not called the Auspicious Beast. I'm Qiu'er... Qiu'er silently grumbled while looking at Scarlet King's retreating back, then turned to face Qin Yue again.

"Qin Yue, I believe you."

The weakened Three-Eyed Golden Lion spoke only six short words, yet they became an arrow that pierced Qin Yue's heart, leaving behind a deep memory he would never forget for the rest of his life.

Qin Yue pressed his lips together, stepped forward, and wrapped his arms around Qiu'er. Burying his head in her soft golden fur, he said quietly, "Mm."

Qiu'er's eyes curved into crescents. Just as Qin Yue understood her, she understood the determination in his words. Coupled with that strange fragrance growing ever stronger, she could not help but open her mouth and lick Qin Yue's face again.
