Before Scarlet King and Qiu'er could approach, the lake exploded with a boom. A pitch-black figure shot out from within and landed before the man and two beasts in an instant.

Di Tian, dressed in black with black hair and golden eyes, glanced at Qin Yue on Scarlet King's back. He immediately sensed the faint connection between him and the Auspicious Beast, and his brows furrowed tightly. "Scarlet King, what happened?"

Scarlet King glanced at Qin Yue, who had voluntarily gotten down, then shook its body and relayed all of Qiu'er's earlier explanation to Di Tian. After finishing, it silently moved aside so as not to affect Di Tian's judgment.

After a brief silence, Di Tian shifted his gaze to Qiu'er and asked gently,

"Auspicious Beast, is everything Scarlet King said true? Don't be nervous. Even if this is merely your lie, for your sake, I will safely send this boy out of Star Dou Forest. As long as he promises never to come see you again, I can pretend this never happened."

"Believe it or not!" The furious Qiu'er was so angry that she flopped onto the ground. As she recalled the future she had seen earlier, her expression became increasingly mournful, as though they could kill or punish her however they pleased.

Di Tian's heart sank. As someone who had practically watched the Auspicious Beast grow up, he could be certain that at least most of what Scarlet King had said was true. For instance, the Auspicious Beast truly cared deeply about this human, and the Death Tribulation was indeed connected to him. Perhaps this could give rise to a sliver of hope.

Having reached that conclusion, Di Tian immediately abandoned the idea of using forceful methods. At present, the Auspicious Beast seemed to have a good relationship with this human. Before Di Tian could finish, Qiu'er used her tail to scoop up a Gold Jade Fruit from the ground and stuff it into Qin Yue's hand. In a low voice tinged with disdain, she said,

"Qin Yue, Qin Yue, this fruit doesn't taste very good, but I've personally seen other humans fight fiercely over it. It should be good for you."

Qin Yue did not stand on ceremony. He picked up the Gold Jade Fruit and swallowed it in one bite. As Qiu'er had said, it tasted terrible. Not only was it not sweet, but it was also slightly astringent.

"Qin Yue, Qin Yue, I'll take you to see my cave! It's very comfortable to sleep there!"

Qin Yue could not help laughing, but he naturally would not refuse Qiu'er's kindness. Smiling, he nodded. "As expected of Qiu'er. Even the place where you sleep is so magical. I must take a good look."

Qiu'er's voice became even more cheerful. "You definitely won't be disappointed!"
