The airship had a rather traditional design: a ship-style cabin paired with a gigantic missile-shaped gasbag. Its gasbag was made from eight sections of dragonhide; theoretically, even if several sections were punctured, it could still remain afloat in the air.

The deck was equipped with cat-repelling fire powder, which could drive off wild Cat Lamps when they approached.

Witches' airships were severely "allergic" to Cat Lamps. If a kitty burrowed into the gasbag, it would cause explosive damage.

Perhaps the meow-aos would merely fall trailing black smoke with a "meow-aoaoao," then crawl back up a few days later, but an airship would be ruined in one go. Both the financial losses and safety risks were staggering.

This was a design intended to protect wildlife, preventing the two most common airborne wild creatures, Cat Lamps and small dragons, from crawling underneath to slack off, only to be turned into "cat/dragon pancakes" when the airship landed.

According to witch appraisal, however, it was merely a type of tough dragonwood, not a World Tree.
