The ascetic ordeal known as work began.
Jiang Han noticed that Avenka seemed prepared for a long campaign. From her cat tail, she took out some props stored in the Sleeping Witches' shared space—or so Jiang Han guessed:
Two black, soft-looking beanbag sofas. (They looked like furry slimes!)
A black wooden kitty bell. (It looked like a sculpture: one large cat dragging three kittens, each kitten clutching a bell in its paws.)
And a fairly large heated-table-like round table shaped like a cat paw. (It had no left foot; instead, it had two semicircular pillar supports, with twenty giant cats carved around the outside!)
"Are you planning to move in?" Jiang Han asked.
"Before I produce even a little result, I'd rather die here," Avenka said rapidly.
"I thought I was just here to read with you and ask around about people..." Jiang Han looked around the VIP room. The environment here was quite nice.
"You can leave first. This is my own battle." Avenka pulled another huge stack of books from her cat tail and placed them on the table, along with several boxes.
Now that she had put it that way, how could Jiang Han possibly just leave her here?
Jiang Han licked her lips, leisurely kicked off her shoes, put on a pair of fluffy indoor slippers, and settled into a beanbag sofa.
The soft beanbag offered a small comfort to her weary heart.
She asked:
"What do I need to do? Help you read books and look for—"
Bang.
Avenka had already opened an enormous tome titled <A Thousand Forms and Processes of How Foods Favored by Cat Lamps Cause Changes in Them After Long-Term Consumption>. Her fingers lightly stroked the cover as she raised her head, looking at Jiang Han with those beautiful black eyes,
