While fishing, Jiang Han took the chance to properly learn about the place they were going. "Meow-ao, what a fat fish!"
Du Lingxuan said as she let out some line:
"You roughly understand the Void's layers?"
All Witches knew... Jiang Han thought. She talked as if I didn't know what cats were or what fish were, as if Witches didn't know Angelite and Frost Demons didn't know Tonya. It was downright absurd... The Void was an extremely high-dimensional, highly idealistic region. Sometimes Void creatures did not want to open rifts, but the Void did not listen to them.
She said:
"The Void's overall shape is like an hourglass. The upper layer consists of worlds that have been voidified; the refined power of the Void gives rise to life, nature, and positive energy, serving as the universe's balancer. The lower layer is a junkyard, planes inhabited by all manner of Void creatures. The midpoint is where it intersects with the Astral Realm—the point of contact with our world, and with every world that exists within the Astral Realm and the universe."
Void theory was an academic overview both Witches and Cat Lamps had to study.
Aside from fishing for benefits in the Astral Realm, trying one's luck in the Void was also a good method. But the Void was far too vast; without suitable coordinates, it was difficult to gain anything worthwhile.
"You learned it very thoroughly." Even when Du Lingxuan spoke sincerely, people sometimes thought she was being sarcastic.
She reeled in a red-scaled fish, but it was not the kind Cat Lamps and Witches liked to eat, so she unhappily tossed it back.
Du Lingxuan gestured for Jiang Han to wait, then called out to Lu Jieshan, who had just caught a salmon:
"Have you got anything better?"
"Yes."
