Angelite was extraordinarily efficient—or rather, no witch dared drag their feet in front of her.
She got all the paperwork done in just half a day, then dragged Jiang Han, who was still trying to figure out how to lighten the burden on her phone, to City Hall.
South City's City Hall stood at the very center of South City. Thanks to South City witches' particular brand of persecution mania, it had been built into a complex cluster of Sky Islands with a complete three-chain Sky Island defense system. To enter City Hall from outside, one could only land at the chicken parking lot beyond City Hall Island, then walk through an airspace-prohibited corridor.
Entering under the watchful eyes of guards so high-strung they would shoot at anything that flew was the only way.
Angelite's presence was anything but ordinary. With the distinctive Sovereign Scepter in hand, she drew countless looks from witches visiting City Hall on business.
Jiang Han also heard the witches' hushed murmurs. She glanced at Angelite and lowered her own voice in complaint.
"You should have disguised yourself before coming out."
Though witches' professionalism meant they would not cause trouble during office hours, those restless gazes still made Jiang Han, who was used to curling up alone in her room, somewhat uncomfortable.
Angelite's crimson eyes turned toward Jiang Han. After a moment, she said in an even voice, "I do not need to hide."
That was true. The only reason she bothered disguising herself when she went out to have fun was because she did not like being watched while enjoying herself... Jiang Han followed close behind her and stepped into the elevator.
Rarely, there was no one in the elevator. Perhaps everyone found squeezing into one with a Great Witch a little too nerve-racking.
