The climate of the Sky Island temporarily named "Silver Island" by Kraken was peculiar—or rather, Gaia's climate was peculiar.
At such a tremendous altitude, the oxygen concentration was so high that the witches could move about freely without even needing to acclimate. The temperature leaned cool, while the considerable expanse of sky sea gave Silver Island a subtropical yet more refreshing climate.
But at the heart of Silver Island was a nascent sun—according to Jiang Han's understanding, if the old god Gaia were not made to burn itself up, this nascent sun might need several billion years to hatch, and several tens of billions more before it could be used for a Dyson sphere. By then, would witches even still exist...? No, rather, witches might still exist, but among all the witches currently alive, only Angelite would likely have a chance of reaching that age.
This made its interior quite warm. Even barefoot on the ground, one would feel a comfortable, gentle warmth.
Warm springs gushed from openings all over the island, forming many beautiful connected lakes and warm rivers wreathed in rising steam.
At the very top of the slope where their campsite stood was one of Kraken's mage towers, equipped with an enormous astronomical telescope for observing the weather. However, as Kraken put it:
"Gaia is not yet ready to open itself up. The data from my mage tower shows that 86% of this world will be covered by rainfall. That is also a major reason for the sky sea phenomenon. Beneath us lies an extremely fertile ocean. Silver Island is already a very good region, with normal rainfall levels. In Gaia, rainfall can cover as much as 56% of every day—that is, out of twenty-four hours, it rains for around thirteen."
"Such a long rainy season... I
