Jia had learned that Dodo's appetite had apparently begun increasing several days ago. By yesterday, it had reached an astonishing level—she would even wake up hungry in the middle of sleep, clamoring for food.
Today, Jia and Alice had taken Dodo out for a huge meal. Yet no sooner had they returned home than the little girl was hungry again.
This was absolutely abnormal, and certainly not some game involving a "hungry little bird." Chen Rui and Catherine could both sense that Dodo's aura was growing increasingly chaotic, and worry crept onto their faces.
Even after eating so much food, the little girl was still not full. All she did was cry that her tummy was hungry.
"Right!" Chen Rui suddenly recalled how Dodo had been in the human world. An idea struck him, and he took out a red fire-element crystal. "Dodo..."
Before he could finish, his little treasure flew over in delight, took the crystal, and touched it with her tiny hand. The crystal's fire-element power rapidly weakened. In the blink of an eye, it turned transparent, crumbled into powder, and vanished into the air.
"Daddy! More!"
Chen Rui could clearly sense that the chaotic aura had settled somewhat. He finally understood and hurriedly took out several more.
In the blink of an eye, the fire-element crystals were absorbed dry once again.
"Daddy, Dodo still wants to eat..."
"This isn't called eating, sweetheart. It's called absorbing energy." Chen Rui simply took out everything in the Storage Warehouse related to fire elements and piled it into a small mountain. Some of it was priceless material, but for his precious daughter, there was nothing he could bear to part with.
Seeing the huge pile of fire-element crystals and items, Dodo's eyes sparkled with little stars as she pounced on it.
