Three months had passed since the portals across the Eastern Continent were completely sealed.
Although the portals had been closed and could no longer be used, and the White Sea had established a unified line of defense, great numbers of humans still crossed the sea, hoping to escape to the Western Continent by sea route.
The defenders on the western shore of the White Sea had not completely cut off these refugees' path to survival. They had established dedicated navigation fleets to guide refugee vessels safely through the defensive zone in the forward waters. However, the White Sea was simply too vast, and conditions in the deep-sea regions were extraordinarily harsh. Only a very small proportion of refugee ships could reach the navigators' area. No one knew how many had been buried beneath the savage waves, but no matter what, there was still a sliver of hope.
Not long ago, quite a few ships had safely reached the White Sea's western shore under the navigation fleets' guidance. Yet as time passed, the navigators encountered fewer and fewer ships, a sign that conditions on the Eastern Continent were worsening further.
Over these three months, the human and Devil Race allied forces had carried out extensive deployments and preparations. A unified network of fortifications had been built along the coastline, and through selection and training, a joint navy had been assembled in the shortest possible time.
