Chen Rui's thoughts raced. Before entering the Stellar Gate, he did something—his body erupted with an intense radiance, and several spheres of light carrying a violently destructive aura appeared, howling toward Fenoya and Michelle at once.

Silencing witnesses! Michelle could hardly believe her eyes. This friend she had trusted had revealed such a ferocious true face!

His identity had been exposed, so he was killing witnesses before leaving to ensure no trace was left behind... At least, that was how it looked on the surface.

Just as when Chen Rui had met the Elf Queen, he had immediately severed all apparent ties with the hill dwarves.

A few seconds before Chen Rui unleashed Aurora Blast, Fenoya heard a warning in his mind. A flash of weary desolation, as if he had seen through all the ways of the world, crossed his eyes. With an angry shout, rippling magical fluctuations appeared before him and spread outward, enveloping everyone within. At the same time, streaks of sharp blue light shot from his hand in counterattack toward Chen Rui.

Yet something unexpected happened. Whether it was Chen Rui's attack or Fenoya's defense and counterattack, all of them seemed to be refracted by several pillars of light descending from the sky. They did not reach their intended destinations, but were instead "refracted" far away.

This phenomenon resembled the defensive ultimate move "Spatial Barrier" that Chen Rui had encountered from Kelena, the Aquarius Saint, but there was a difference. The refraction of the light pillars was continuous; with every refraction, their power was greatly weakened. Chen Rui's Aurora Blasts vanished without a trace after merely four refractions, and the elf grandmaster's counterattack met the same fate.
