Hearing this, Ai Chen had no further reservations. She took the lead, pushed open the doors of the black residence, and strode inside.
Xue Xi and Xue Qi exchanged helpless glances. "Let's go."
The residence's intelligent butler automatically activated the instant Ai Chen stepped inside. As the three of them walked deeper in, faint halos of light appeared throughout the dark residence. They were warm, pale-yellow lights that brightly illuminated the entire mansion.
Xue Qi looked at every corner of the residence with nostalgia in her eyes. Everything was exactly as she remembered it, except the person by her side was no longer the same. She felt as though she wanted to buy osmanthus and share wine on a boat once more, yet it would never feel like those youthful days again.
After a brief moment of sentimentality, Xue Qi smiled faintly. Things were pretty good now too.
She raised a finger and lightly snapped it, producing a crisp sound. "Butler Z."
Suddenly, one of the branches of the white jade tree at the center of the residence lit up, and a voice resembling a smart assistant spoke. "Master, I am here!"
The corners of Xue Qi's lips lifted. It seemed her intelligent butler still recognized her. A trace of tenderness flashed through her eyes. "Butler Z, open the treasure vault. I want to see my little treasures!"
The branches trembled in response.
