"Looks like things aren't going too well for the White Team, Sawahara," Nagumo said, coming over to offer his fellow anchor runner his so-called concern.
"Seems that way." Sawahara glanced at the current scores for the White Team and Red Team. The gap between them was nearly two hundred points. The second- and third-year students really were useless.
"But it isn't over yet. Who can say for sure how things will turn out? If the White Team takes first and second place in this race, there's still a chance to turn things around."
"You sure are confident, Sawahara." Miyabi Nagumo narrowed his eyes. It was clear Sawahara believed he could take the top two spots. "Unfortunately, I doubt there's anyone in the second or third year who can live up to your expectations. Looks like I'll be happily collecting the votes from your class."
"That remains to be seen. I have quite a bit of faith in this year's freshmen." Sawahara replied calmly. From the moment they'd signed the contract, the outcome had already been decided.
"Seems like quite a lot has happened between you two," Manabu Horikita interjected.
"Yeah. After today, a new era begins." With Manabu Horikita joining the conversation, Nagumo spoke with a hint of pride. The second-years' votes were secured, and with the votes from Class Ichinose as part of the wager, there'd be nothing to worry about in the election.
"Do you really want to change this school?" Manabu Horikita looked at his junior, who had gone astray, and felt sorry for him.
"This school has been boring for far too long. It claims to put ability above all else, yet it's still full of useless people. I'll build a school where ability truly comes first." Nagumo once again shared his ambition with the senior
