Unexpected Discovery

The day after school, Hoshino did not rush to the Student Council room, but instead went to the teachers' office first to confirm the progress of the data verification.

Things were going smoothly, and it would be finished by tomorrow at the latest, which put Hoshino at ease.

Next up was the club situation.

Yesterday, seven clubs, including the Chess Club, had not filled out their forms, so Hoshino had to go check on their progress, hoping there wouldn't be any more instances of dragging their feet.

"Excuse me, I'm Hoshino, who came by yesterday. May I ask if that form has been filled out?"

"It's done! I'll go get it right now!"

"Excuse me..."

"..."

Things were going much smoother than expected, but then again, when it came to club budgets, how could these people dare not take it seriously?

Hoshino's mouth curled up into a pleased smile as he walked slowly, holding a few completed forms in his hand.

Suddenly, two familiar figures in the distance caught Hoshino's attention.

Eh? Ryuen? And Ishizaki? What are they doing here?

At this moment, Hoshino was still on the stairs in the central hall on the third floor of the club building. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Ryuen and Ishizaki talking about something as they turned into a corner on the third floor.

Hoshino was a bit curious. He quickly searched his memory to confirm if he had seen wrong, while simultaneously following them with light, quick steps.

"If I recall correctly, isn't that classroom used for storing miscellaneous items? I don't think there are any clubs there, just a Chemistry Club and... some other club I've forgotten, with pitifully few members!" Hoshino pondered, feeling uncertain.

Come to think of it, would Ryuen and Ishizaki actually join a club? Hoshino found it hard to imagine which club would dare to accept such "big shots." It seemed the Student Council hadn't received any club establishment applications from Class C either.

To avoid being discovered, Hoshino walked to the corner and peeked his head out slightly. One look was enough to confirm it was indeed Ryuen and Ishizaki!

Their backs continued to move forward, and they seemed to be talking about something.

Eh? They had already passed the doors of those club rooms, yet they didn't stop, walking all the way to the end of the corridor.

That was a rest area. Because this section was mostly used for storing miscellaneous items, the corner was rarely used by anyone, and there were a few boxes of junk piled up there. However, since it was a rest area, it wasn't dark or messy; the sunlight was quite bright, making it a perfect place for someone to relax alone!

Following Ryuen had actually led him to a pretty good hidden gem!

"How about it! Boss Ryuen, this place... is not bad, right!..." Although the distance was a bit far, due to the surrounding silence, Hoshino still heard some of their conversation.

"Hmm, it is indeed not bad... a good place! Very suitable for carrying out... that plan..." Ryuen looked around, a contemptuous smile on his face, his voice tinged with a hint of smugness.

Hoshino didn't peek out again, but his mouth curled up slightly; it seemed he had heard something interesting.

Estimating the time, Ryuen and his companion had stayed for about ten minutes.

After Ryuen and the others left via the stairs near the rest area, Hoshino slowly walked over openly.

"Hmm! Looking at it up close, it really is a great spot!"

Seeing the sunlight streaming in through the glass, Hoshino nodded with satisfaction. The only pity was that there was no place to sit, only the nearby stairs.

After observing for a moment, this seemed to be a place without surveillance cameras, which truly made it a suitable spot for Ryuen to work his magic!

Having accidentally discovered Ryuen's plan, Hoshino was in a great mood. He then sat down on the steps of the nearby staircase.

However, Hoshino was a bit curious: what exactly was Ryuen trying to do? Which class's students was he planning to target? And why scout the location in advance?

After thinking for a moment, Hoshino guessed it was most likely Class B.

After all, Class B was currently the one standing in front of Class C.

It was too hasty to deal with Class A right now. A casual investigation would easily reveal the fact that Class A was "splitting," and the best time to act would be when they were fighting amongst themselves!

It couldn't possibly be Class D, could it? They had only earned less than a hundred class points last month, leaving each person with less than ten thousand personal points! There was a huge gap of 500 class points compared to Class C. It wouldn't be worth it no matter how you looked at it.

Ryuen had checked for so long, wasn't it just because he was afraid of surveillance cameras?

Then he would install one for him. He wondered what Ryuen's reaction would be after the incident; just thinking about it made Hoshino feel it would be quite interesting.

Action followed thought. Standing up, Hoshino took out the camera he carried with him...

How should he put it? Carrying 100,000 points around, even with some camouflage, was still a bit nerve-wracking; he was always afraid of losing them!

Returning to the Student Council, Hoshino handed in the club survey forms and returned to his seat, where he began to get busy.

"Good afternoon!... Eh? Why is there a strange face here?" A frivolous voice came, and Hoshino was "startled" out of his work.

Looking up, a yellow-haired boy was standing in front of President Horikita's desk, looking toward Hoshino with interest.

"He is Hoshino from the first year, a secretary who recently joined the Student Council. This is Vice President Nagumo." President Horikita, who was holding the documents handed over by Vice President Nagumo, gave a brief introduction upon hearing the vice president's voice.

"Please treat me well." Hoshino stood up and bowed slightly.

"...Hmm! Please treat me well."

Looking up, Hoshino noticed that Vice President Nagumo was staring at him thoughtfully, a frivolous smile playing on the corners of his mouth.

"So you're the talent personally invited by President Horikita?" Vice President Nagumo walked over.

"Uh... no." Hoshino glanced at President Horikita to the side, and seeing that he had no intention of stepping in, he hesitated for a moment before giving his answer.

President Horikita remained expressionless as he looked over the documents, while Vice President Nagumo wore a look of astonishment.

"Eh?" This was the sound of Secretary Tachibana's surprise from the side.

"...I mean, I'm not any kind of talent." Looking at the bewildered purple-haired senior, Hoshino felt a bit helpless; why did it feel like every purple-haired girl he met was a bit short on intelligence?

"...Hmm! Haha... not bad, I like you!" Vice President Nagumo seemed to have snapped out of it, placing a hand on Hoshino's shoulder and speaking with a certain "familiarity."

Come to think of it, the last person to do this was probably Hashimoto from Class A; these two... they really are alike.
