She watched him approach step by step, her heart pounding as if it would burst from her chest. Her cheeks were red enough to bleed, yet she couldn't bear to look away.
Kageyama Sora bent down again and kissed her lips, his voice husky like a lover's whisper. "This time, don't cry again."
His hand slid up the inside of her thigh. When his fingertips touched her warm skin, Momoko shuddered violently, but she no longer struggled.
The lights outside the window still glittered brightly, but the air in the bedroom grew hotter and hotter. Their breaths tangled together like a silent love song, flowing softly through the quiet night.
Only a glass-blue wall lamp was lit in the room. Its light spilled through frosted glass, casting a hazy, warm yellow patch across the carpet.
Toyoko Momoko sat on the edge of the bed wrapped in a silk robe, her snow-white ankles exposed as they lightly brushed against the soft shag carpet like a restless little animal.
"What are you afraid of?" Kageyama Sora chuckled softly as he sat beside her.
The mattress sank slightly, tilting Momoko toward him.
His fingertips lightly hooked a strand of hair that had fallen across her shoulder, winding it around his finger as he played with it. "Didn't you cling to me in the elevator just now?"
Momoko's cheeks instantly flushed scarlet. She tried to pull her hand back as if burned, only for him to catch it in his grasp.
His palm was warm from the shower, the thin calluses on his fingertips brushing the delicate inside of her wrist and making her tremble faintly.
"I-I didn't..." Her voice was as soft as a mosquito's buzz, but the ending was kneaded apart in the air by the light pinch of his fingertips.
