Let's turn our attention to the other side.
The Demon Monarch fled back to the Demon Plane in a sorry state.
There, he clung to life in his own territory.
From a certain perspective, this plane was more like an Abyss Plane without an Abyssal Sage King,
relying on constant consumption and evolution, it had only just given birth to a Plane Will.
Its laws and planar rules were still incomplete. All it had was the ability to keep evolving by devouring things.
To put it bluntly, aside from the Plane Will,
this world was even less sophisticated than the demiplane Electrolux had created—the one belonging to the man who "held the sun and moon in his hands and plucked the stars from the sky, with none like him in all the world."
The Plane Will's intelligence was only on par with that of a three-year-old human child,
naive and instinctive, it could only bestow blessings on exceptionally talented beings within the plane by following its intuition.
At present, the Demon Plane had five demons at the Monarch level.
These five Monarchs each belonged to a different species, such as the Hell Three-Headed Dog and the Great Devil.
With the Plane Will's blessing, they had risen above countless demons through constant devouring and slaughter, reaching the pinnacle of evolution in this world.
However, this pinnacle was only equivalent to the Quasi-God level on the Douluo Plane.
And because its laws were incomplete, it was possible for a demigod-level powerhouse from the Douluo Plane to defeat them despite the disparity.
The Demon Monarch casually slapped to death a subordinate who had begun eyeing him covetously.
Then he began using his stored energy to recover.
Half a day later, at least judging by his outward aura, the Demon Monarch had regained his strength.
"This operation cost me dearly."
"My Demon Legion, the three hellhounds I split off, and the two Great Devils I borrowed."
After reaching the limits of the Demon Plane, a Demon Monarch could split himself, creating an individual resembling his original self.
These split-off individuals were utterly loyal to their original.
Most of them were Super Douluo at level ninety-six or ninety-seven. With enough luck and energy absorbed, they could eventually advance to Limit Douluo.
"No good. I can feel the Plane Will's blessing toward me weakening."
"It seems the Plane Will is very displeased with my actions this time."
"I have to do something. Otherwise, without the Plane Will's protection, I could very well be devoured by another lord."
The Demon Monarch made up his mind and headed for the center of the Demon Plane, where the Great Devil Alba lived.
Because he wasn't very powerful, Demon Monarch Wujie lived near the edge of the Demon Plane.
At its very center lived the Great Devil Alba.
Alba himself had also reached the limits of the Demon Plane, but he had nine split-off Great Devils under his command.
All nine were Super Douluo, and when they worked together, they could unleash the strength of two or three Limit Douluo within the Demon Plane.
Wujie flew to the castle where the Great Devil Alba lived. A Great Devil stood at the entrance, one of Alba's kinsmen.
"Stop! What are you doing here?"
Demon Monarch Wujie paused. In ordinary times, he would have killed the demon blocking his way outright.
But now that he had fallen on hard times, Demon Monarch Wujie merely said in a low voice, "I have something important to discuss with Alba, and it's good news. Go tell him at once."
"If you're late..."
As he spoke, the Demon Monarch opened his cavernous jaws.
The guard's expression changed in an instant. He hurriedly nodded, saying he would report it right away.
Demon Monarch Wujie walked slowly into the hall on four legs.
The hall was deep purple, decorated inside with various demonic patterns.
If he had to describe it, it looked a bit like a medieval European castle.
On the throne sat a three-meter-tall Great Devil.
A crown, similar to Demon Monarch Wujie's, rested on his head.
But on closer inspection, the crown atop the Great Devil's head was a darker shade, with a richer purple hue.
"Brother Wujie, what brings you to my place?"
The Great Devil Alba spoke with a hint of contempt.
Wujie lowered his head in greeting. "Great Great Devil, I come bearing the honor of the Three-Headed Dogs. I have a momentous opportunity I'd like to discuss with you."
Wujie kept his posture low, and even sounded a little ingratiating.
"Oh? Let's hear it."
The Great Devil Alba grew interested, curiosity creeping into his voice.
"I happened upon a plane whose energy is of an exceptionally high order.
"I tried to invade it, but I wasn't strong enough and failed."
"So I've come to discuss joining forces with you to attack that plane."
The Great Devil Alba's voice turned stern. He scolded in a low voice, "How dare you! If this were truly such a good opportunity, why would you tell me about it? You're clearly trying to deceive me!"
A wave of pressure burst from the Great Devil, forcing Wujie's head down.
"Great Great Devil, I would never deceive you."
"There are two beings on that plane as powerful as I am. I defeated one enemy, but I couldn't overcome the other, so I eventually fled back here."
As he spoke, Demon Monarch Wujie spat out a massive chunk of flesh.
In a flash, the Great Devil Alba seized the flesh in his hand.
A trace of fervor shone in Alba's eyes. He sniffed it and carefully stroked the flesh with his hand.
"This power?"
There was already a hint of fascination in Alba's voice.
But he soon returned to his senses.
"Wujie, you've done well. I can see your sincerity."
"However, planes drift constantly through the universe. That world may have already drifted away by now."
"Finding it would be like searching for a needle in the ocean. How am I supposed to look for it?"
"Could it be that you're trying to lure me into a trap?"
By the end, a trace of coldness had crept into the Great Devil Alba's voice.
"Great Great Devil, I wouldn't have come if I hadn't already made preparations."
"Oh? Let's hear them."
A golden-purple ball of energy emerged from Wujie's mouth and slowly floated before Alba.
"Great Great Devil, this is a key I left behind based on the characteristics of the creatures from that plane."
"Once the creature carrying the key reaches a certain level of strength, it can be controlled and made to open a passage between that plane and the Demon Plane."
The Great Devil Alba sensed the energy. As Wujie had said, he could indeed feel a trace of another plane within it.
"Excellent. Since you've shown such sincerity, I should offer you some compensation."
"Tell me, what do you want?"
The Great Devil Alba asked in a good mood.
"I don't want anything, Wujie. I only ask that when you're ready, Great Great Devil, you take me with you to invade that plane."
Alba's brow furrowed slightly, but soon relaxed. "Dear Wujie, you must have been badly injured in your attack on that plane."
"Go back and recover first. Once you're fully healed, I'll discuss the conquest of the plane with you."
As he spoke, the Great Devil took out a purple Demon Crystal.
"This is a Demon Crystal. Absorb its energy and go home to rest."
Wujie took the crystal in one mouth, while another head spoke in a trembling voice, "Thank you, Great Great Devil. I'll recover as soon as possible."
"When the time comes, I'll gladly serve as the vanguard in conquering that plane and be at your command, Great Great Devil."
The Great Devil Alba nodded, indicating that Wujie could leave.
