"Alright, I'm at the Eastern Laboratory now."

"Arguing with the Steam Engine?"

"No! They're all very friendly. How could we be arguing!"

"And it has its own name. It's called Silly, not Steam Engine!"

Theus did not know whether to laugh or cry. "As long as you're happy."

He made his way through the manor, past the bustling servants—they were preparing for the evening banquet, and the manor's reception hall had already been completely redecorated.

Theus arrived at the stables, greeted the gatekeeper, and soon rode to the laboratory.

This was where the Type II Engine had first been ignited. After the previous accident, Theus had turned the area into a complete laboratory complex.

That way, even if there was a Pollution problem, the students would at least have somewhere to stay instead of cramming into a single little shack.

The buildings here had been constructed with the help of the Banshees—they also had quite a few people coming over to attend lessons, as long as they hid themselves a little and did not let the other students discover them.

The houses built by the Banshees were, first, relatively tall and spacious, and second, incredibly sturdy. With Turn Stone to Mud, their construction skills rivaled those of Blue Star, with its cement, steel bars, and concrete.

Theus had ordered this. After all, the experiments conducted here were not necessarily safe, and sturdier buildings might save lives.

Once the living quarters were built, a dedicated kitchen soon followed, then a lounge for patrol and security personnel. Now, Theus was even considering building a wall. Before, he had thought there was no need; there were no large wild beasts on the island.

But things were different now. There might not be large wild beasts on the island, but there were large machines.
