Galahad stood on the deck, watching the harbor gradually draw nearer, his thoughts churning.
He had spent several days aboard the ship, constantly trying to ask Connor about Castel, but the old butler was meticulous in everything he did, and Galahad had gotten almost no useful information out of him.
He could only ask the Faithguard Army soldiers aboard the ship.
Even now, all Galahad knew about Castel was that its level of industrialization was very high. Those Faithguard soldiers had even been afraid he would not understand what industry was and spent ages explaining it to him.
Damn it, did they actually think he did not understand industry?
No one understood industry better than he did. Galahad had run factories in the Rhine.
Hah, they had merely gotten lucky and successfully modified their muskets. Workers in his old factories had successfully improved equipment before as well.
Although the Church had stopped them afterward, Galahad did not think it was particularly difficult. It was simply that the consequences of failure were too terrifying, so no one dared to try.
He was a Transcendent. No one understood better than he did what Cognitive Interference could lead to.
Come to think of it, Castel did not seem to have any Transcendents.
Those weapons called bolt-action rifles were something ordinary people could not possibly bring to their full potential. Galahad had only used them a few times, but that was enough for him to reach a conclusion: these were weapons tailored specifically for Transcendents.
According to the Holy Scriptures carried by those Faithguard soldiers, these weapons only had a range of 700 meters. But in the hands of a Transcendent like him, even 1,000 meters would not be much of a problem.
At that distance, the human eye could not aim at all.
