"What did you call me over for? I still have to guard the gate."
"Ahem, how are things in the Northern Territory? Have you made plans for supporting the Faithguard Army?"
"That was settled long ago. Ash should already have taken people over there. There should be results before long."
Theus blinked, a faint sense of unease rising in his heart. "You didn't just send the banshees charging straight into Slading Fortress, did you?"
Given Nini's personality, it was entirely possible. As for the banshees, they had long been itching for a good fight.
Charging in like that was not impossible, but it would create plenty of unnecessary trouble.
First, it would expose the existence of a large number of banshees. Theus had not intended to hide the Banshees, but so many appearing at once would surely draw the Church's attention. The Northern Territory would be thrown into turmoil for quite some time.
Second, it might alert the enemy. They could save the Resistance Army by charging in directly, but the remaining three grand dukes and Count Bazel would be prepared in advance.
Others might worry about being dragged into a hard fight or facing their combined forces. Theus was different.
He was worried they would run.
That would be troublesome. If Count Bazel truly chose to abandon everything and flee, Theus had no particularly good way to deal with it.
To reach the Northern Territory, he had to lay railway tracks all the way there. If Bazel fled straight into the Empire, was he supposed to turn the railway and keep building after him?
Then when would Bazel's head ever be hung from Castel Cathedral?
Theus's gaze grew increasingly unfriendly. If Nini had really done something that reckless, she could forget about ever writing reports again!
Nini took several
