Theus emerged from the office somewhat wearily. He nodded to the Banshees guarding the door and headed outside.
This day had utterly exhausted him. He had constantly switched between different bodies, waking one moment and falling unconscious the next. He had to communicate with the Banshees and Gwen through various connections, while somehow finding time to meet with a group of Buriers from the Silent Temple.
Unfortunately, all sorts of miscellaneous affairs still awaited him. Alexei came to him with an enormous stack of documents, seeking his opinion.
"White Calamity has stopped moving. How should we deal with it?"
"Keep the fortress garrisoned. Send a train to keep watch near White Calamity and report its status at all times."
"How should we handle Duke Alvaray? They surrendered outright, made no covert moves, and even helped us a little."
Theus rubbed his brow. "Seize his assets for now, leave him enough for daily use, then compile a report on his exact circumstances and hand it over to the tribunal. Have Chloe work some overtime studying it."
"Some of the scouts sent to investigate have returned. White Calamity passed through several villages and towns. Since it mainly moved along the railway lines, its advance along the flanks was slow, so there were basically no casualties. But many homes were destroyed, creating a large new wave of refugees."
"Ask the refugees what they want. Send those willing to leave to Blood Port, and resettle those unwilling to leave in nearby towns. Set up some temporary shelters first—at least don't let them freeze to death." After speaking, Theus paused before adding, "Have the Resistance Army assist with that. They're familiar with conditions in the Northern Territory as well."
Alexei flipped through the documents in his hands and pulled out several more.
