"Stronger than a [Named One]?" Beatrice was startled. "Are you planning to deal with Lina?"
"You know Lina too?"
"Of course. More than half of Candlelight Society's records concerning [Named Ones] were compiled by her. She may not have been very active in recent years, but going back a few centuries, she was quite renowned."
"Several centuries? Renowned?" Theus was somewhat surprised. Only then did he realize that he did not seem to know much about Lina.
All he knew was that Isaac had been thoroughly beaten by Lina, that Lina had suffered a few setbacks at the hands of the elder Gwen, and that after confronting the younger Gwen and exchanging a few insults, she had retreated.
She doesn't look all that formidable, though.
Seeing Theus's expression, Beatrice understood. Although this Border Count had quite a few Transcendents sworn to him, his understanding of the Transcendent world was not particularly deep.
"Transcendents are divided according to their paths, and each has its own specialties. There are [Nymphs], who excel at hiding; [Skinwearers], who excel in direct combat; [Investigators], who excel at everything; and [Knights], who excel at nothing. In short, while each has its advantages, the overall gap between them is not that great."
"They are the backbone of the Transcendent world, the pillars of a Church, supporting the entire Transcendent world."
"Above these Transcendents are second-tier Transcendents."
"Second-tier?!" Theus froze. "Th-There are second tiers too? Are there third and fourth tiers as well, then Saint-tier, demigods, and so on?"
"What are those?" Beatrice asked strangely. "But second-tier Transcendents generally do not count as [people]. In a sense, they are more like objects. For instance, the Moth Chasing Flame's [Cocoons]—you should have seen them before, right?"
Beatrice knew that Theus had people from Moth Chasing Flame serving under him.
