Theus had never imagined the world of the past would be like this.
In his imagination, the battle against the gods should have been a repeat of the Mother Goddess's rebellion. They encountered an even stronger enemy, drew an even stronger weapon themselves, and after countless twists and turns, successfully killed it.
Perhaps it would have been harder, but...
Those memories of the white-robed priest were almost like a nightmare, even just to recall.
Gods who could not be defeated, a Church whose eyes and ears were spread among the masses, an incomparably oppressive world.
Theus found it hard to imagine what it would have been like if he had crossed over there.
What he could be certain of was that he would not have done any better than the white-robed priest.
As for the white-robed priest's identity, Theus still had some doubts.
He had followed the white-robed priest through countless descents, watching him make all kinds of choices again and again. From that, he could roughly tell what kind of person the white-robed priest was.
Theus felt... it should have been himself. The choices the priest made were choices he would have made as well.
Yet it still felt as though something was missing.
Moreover, these memories did not connect with his previous dreams. In his dreams, although things had not been quite the same as they were now, he had still been in the Throne Room.
Yet in the white-robed priest's memories, there had been no Throne Room. Each time he died, he awakened in darkness and chaos, needing to create a body for himself within that darkness.
There was no Throne Room, much less the Golden Throne.

Theus grew somewhat anxious. What exactly had the white-robed priest done to end up
