Background

Rebirth and first steps

Fang Ping “rebirths” on April 5, 2008, as a senior at Yangcheng No. 1 High School. After discovering that martial arts dominate this world, he pursues the martial arts examination despite his family’s limited finances. His registration fee awakens a divine artifact forged by War Heavenly Emperor. 67

Suspecting his upstairs tenant Huang Bin of targeting him, Fang Ping buys sleeping pills, drugs Huang Bin’s water, and knocks him unconscious with a wooden club. Wang Jinyang helps him handle the aftermath; after splitting the spoils, Fang Ping gains more than a million in resources and an introductory martial arts mentor. 67

Magic Martial University

At Magic Martial University, Fang Ping chooses Lv Fengrou as his mentor, recognizing her connections, wealth, and willingness to protect him. He advances to First Grade under her guidance. 68

When students seek to cripple or kill him because of his connection to Wang Jinyang, Fang Ping accepts a ring duel and kills two opponents. The experience cements his belief that a martial artist must fight to survive. 68
