Background / History

Spirit Devourer began awakening within Chen Mochuan more than a year before its completion. The process was abnormally slow and came with severe hunger and stagnated Blood-Qi growth, causing Chen’s martial-arts ranking to fall sharply despite his training. 1

At 99% awakening, it remained stalled for ten days. Chen deliberately overdosed on a Blood Qi Supplement and relied on the Root-Solidifying Stance to endure the violent reaction until Spirit Devourer finally awakened. 2

Its first activation brought overwhelming hunger, rapidly consuming the energy of ten Blood Qi Supplements. The resulting absorption efficiency immediately reversed Chen’s prior slow Blood-Qi growth and revealed its defining principle: it could “devour the spirituality of all things to benefit oneself.” 3

Spirit Devourer identifies, draws in, refines, and converts forms of spirituality into nourishment or insight for Chen Mochuan.

Spirit Devourer can activate independently against hostile spiritual intrusion.

• When an Evil Spirit attempted to invade Chen’s mind, the Seal Spirit Technique restrained the hostile energy while Spirit Devourer devoured it and fed the result back into Chen’s Mental Power. 156
