The Western Immortal Realm collapsed, and the many powerful figures departed. Beneath the starry sky, one large and one small figure traveled side by side toward Ink Star.
Their journey to the Immortal Realm had yielded much. The affirmative answer Queen Mother of the West had given before vanishing had dispelled much of the doubt that had long lingered in his heart.
He did not know when he would find a true method of bringing the dead back to life, but so long as there was even a sliver of hope, he would continue onward.
There was another matter he had never been able to understand. Why had Queen Mother of the West, before disappearing, used her golden hairpin to draw out a Heavenly River and bury the black vortex at the end of the Immortal Realm within it?
Anything that could concern the ruler of the Western Immortal Realm could not be ordinary. What exactly was that enormous black vortex?
As for the Phoenix Body, there were still far too many unknowns. He had never imagined that one day, the person he could trust least would be himself.
After traveling for many days, Ink Star stood before them. Ning Chen gathered his thoughts and led the little girl inside.
On the Dao platform of Message Peak on Ink Mountain, the Ink Lord sensed something. He opened his eyes and looked into the distance, threads of light flickering within them, impossible to describe.
Before long, the black-clad figure approached, bowed, and respectfully said, "Master."
The Ink Lord nodded. "It is good that you have returned. Go rest first."
"Yes."
Ning Chen bowed once more, then turned and left.
Outside Message Peak, a large hand took a small hand, and the two headed together toward Ninth Peak.
One day later, five
