Yin'er was raised at Sword Forging Villa. Her mother and the Sword Forger Master saw her off when Ning Chen took responsibility for guiding her; the Sword Forger Master considered her Phoenix Blood-cleansed foundation ideal for a future heir of the villa. 586

Ning Chen became her teacher and constant guardian, taking her across Central Province and the Outer Heavens while teaching her about the complexity of war, human nature, cultivation, and swordsmanship. She began as a talented but easily distracted child, practicing the simplest sword forms on Ink Mountain's Ninth Peak. 586 610 622

After Ning Chen's Phoenix Body sacrificed itself to protect her from the Underworld Emissaries, Yin'er carried and cared for his unconscious body.
