However, with the descent of a nightmare one night during his youth, Jietisikoki's life underwent a complete transformation.
It was a battlefield shrouded in thick fog, yet filled with unceasing artillery fire.
Metal ammunition blanketed the sky like a rainstorm.
Magnificent cities collapsed and shattered like tofu.
Soldiers' corpses carpeted the ground like fallen leaves.
Their mangled remains piled into mountains.
Their endlessly flowing blood gathered into rivers.
This was the hell known as "war."
And Jietisikoki himself stood at the heart of this dreamscape, watching those scenes of war replay before his eyes again and again.
After a long while, the nightmare ritual finally revealed its true form before him.
Then, Jietisikoki successfully endured it all, formally shedding his mortal body and becoming a Nightmare Sensor—impervious to blades and bullets and gifted with supernatural abilities. He then naturally joined the Auling Hunter Corps, eventually becoming one among the many hunters of his era.
Yet compared to the immensely powerful transcendent strength, what this nightmare changed most in Jietisikoki was his personality and worldview.
The sight of that battlefield was like a horn blown from ancient times, utterly shaking the foundations of Jietisikoki's mind and completely awakening the depths of his soul.
