I started writing for the same reasons as other authors.

The readers there were also pretty forgiving.

At first, my goal was modest: I just wanted real people to read it.

When I reached thirty thousand words, I applied for a contract. As expected, I was rejected.

I kept writing, and after I reached Chapter 15,

I had thirty-five followers.

Still, having no response from dozens of people nearly brought back my PTSD.

After that, I finally got some activity.
