Purple Alert? A Human!

Inside the main hall of the Snake-People Tribe Temple, several elders sat around a stone table, discussing the tribe's affairs.

The Grand Elder sat at the head of the table, lightly tapping his fingers against its surface.

"Has there been any movement from the Jia Ma Empire lately?"

The Second Elder set down his teacup. "That human youth called Xiao Xuan has been much quieter recently."

The Third Elder nodded. "His auction of the Dou Huang Pill at the Mittal Auction House shook the entire Jia Ma Empire, yet there has been no news of him lately."

The Grand Elder frowned slightly. "For Xiao Xuan to possess such strength at such a young age, he will surely become a great threat in the future."

The Fourth Elder waved a hand. "Grand Elder, you worry too much. No matter how strong he is, he is only one person. What trouble can he possibly cause?"

The moment he finished speaking, an explosion sounded outside the window.

Purple light shone through the window into the hall, casting violet shadows across the walls.

The expressions of the elders changed at once.

The Grand Elder abruptly rose to his feet. "The Purple Signal Flare—the highest-level alert."

The Second Elder's expression darkened. "Has a human infiltrated the tribe?"

The Third Elder also stood up. "Who would dare?"

The Fourth Elder said nothing, but his expression was the ugliest of all.

The Purple Signal Flare meant that an external enemy had invaded, and a powerful one at that. The Snake-People Tribe had not sounded an alert of this level in many years.

"Fourth Elder, take some men and investigate," the Grand Elder said.

The Fourth Elder nodded. "I'll go at once."

The Fourth Elder turned and headed outside the hall, followed by several Dou Ling-level experts.

The Grand Elder watched the Fourth Elder's departing back, the gravity in his eyes growing ever heavier.

Within the Snake-People Tribe settlement, Yue Mei lay sprawled on the ground, unable to move due to her injuries.

Yue Mei kept her eyes fixed on Xiao Xuan's back. Watching him walk farther and farther away, she felt both anxious and furious.

That human youth had utterly ignored her. After injuring her, he was still heading deeper inside.

Yue Mei gritted her teeth and glanced up at the sky.

The purple light had already faded, but the elders should have seen the flare by now.

I hope they get here quickly, Yue Mei murmured to herself.

A series of rushing sounds came from afar as several figures rapidly swept over from the direction of the Temple.

The one in front was the Fourth Elder, with six Dou Ling-level experts following behind him.

When Yue Mei saw the Fourth Elder, a smile immediately appeared on her face.

"Fourth Elder, over here."

The Fourth Elder landed and saw Yue Mei lying on the ground, covered in blood. His expression changed instantly.

"Yue Mei, who injured you like this?"

Yue Mei pointed ahead. "A human youth. He went in the direction of the Temple."

The Fourth Elder followed the direction Yue Mei indicated and indeed saw a youth's back.

"That's him?"

"That's him," Yue Mei said. "Fourth Elder, he is very strong. I couldn't even withstand a single move from him."

A trace of surprise flashed through the Fourth Elder's eyes.

Yue Mei was a Dou Ling-level fighter, already considered fairly strong among the Snake-People Tribe. She could not even take one move from him? Just what level was this human youth?

"Don't be afraid," the Fourth Elder said. "I brought some men. Six Dou Ling experts plus me are more than enough to deal with him."

Yue Mei nodded. "Fourth Elder, be careful. This man is not simple."

The Fourth Elder sneered. "Not simple? I'd like to see what he is capable of."
