When Fang Bie returned to the mountaintop more than two hours later, holding a stone sword with its durability already half-depleted, his originally exhausted spirit was instantly invigorated!
He had previously only leveled the hilltop slightly, creating a flat area of about four hundred square meters.
Since Minecraft didn't really care about physics, many of his blocks were actually floating in mid-air; fortunately, there were no coffins in this world, so he didn't have to worry about holding down Newton's coffin lid.
But he had only been gone for two hours, so why did the mountaintop look completely different?
Is this My World? This looks more like your world!
The area that was originally intended for planting trees had been cleared of the few oak saplings that had sprouted, and further away, rows of saplings had been densely planted.
His house, which had been nothing more than a tiny matchbox, had now been expanded to twice its size. Not only did it have a door framed with stone, but someone had even taken the leisure to install a sloped roof.
If the house he built before was merely a box that could house a person, it now resembled a proper wooden cabin.
Yinsen was standing not far from the cabin, holding a wooden block, seemingly deep in thought.
There were some blocks piled up in front of him, and opposite him, the playboy Tony Stark was holding that strange firearm, which seemed to be constructed from machinery and circuitry, and was firing at those blocks.
"Tony, stone can resist gunfire quite well, and wood can hold up too, though it will be damaged quickly. As for wooden planks, they are easily penetrated by bullets and shouldn't be used for defense. But our gun seems to have a problem; it won't fire anymore..."
Yinsen held a notebook, writing down details meticulously while speaking. However, Tony raised a hand, stopping him from continuing.
As Yinsen looked up in confusion, Tony placed the gun casually on a wooden plank and walked toward Fang Bie.
Fang Bie's eyes remained guarded; he couldn't fully trust a stranger, just as the fact that the two of them spoke English to each other was a way to keep their guard up against him.
However, compared to the tension when they first met, the two were now able to communicate in a relatively friendly manner. Fang Bie flicked his wrist and stored his sword into his inventory.
"Fang, we made some major changes to your home. I hope you don't mind," Tony said. When the playboy set aside his status, he was actually quite decent as a friend.
Fang Bie shook his head. "Of course not. If I minded, I wouldn't have let you modify my house."
He looked up at the sky and didn't ask them about the previous firearm experiment. "It's getting late. Let's get inside quickly. Once it gets dark, we're going to have trouble!"
"Right!" Tony nodded, beckoned to Yinsen, and casually opened the door beside him.
Although Fang Bie hadn't taught them how to craft doors, he had left one behind, so the door he had placed earlier was still installed in the wall.
And against another wall, the stone portal stood firm, unchanged.
"I found some carrots and some regular mushrooms. We can have mushroom stew tonight, or maybe make some roasted carrots and meat," Fang Bie said with a smile, but before he could finish his sentence, his expression suddenly tightened!
Tony looked at his drastically changing face in confusion, and before he could react, he was interrupted by Fang Bie's sudden movement.
He lunged forward, shoved Tony aside, and then closed the door without hesitation. His fingers trembling slightly, a stone sword appeared in his hand.
"What?" Tony instinctively blurted out in English. He clutched the small generator on his chest, which was still emitting a blue glow, with some difficulty. Seeing Fang Bie's grave expression and Yinsen's look of utter disbelief, he turned his head with a suspicious look.
"Hiss!" Even with Tony's nerves, he couldn't help but gasp.
He no longer had the heart to question why Fang Bie had suddenly shoved him to the ground. Behind the closed wooden door, a monster with a hideous face and a square head was slamming frantically against the door frame.
It had a nose several times larger than a normal person's, and its entire body was a greenish-black. Although it didn't look like a human, its human features were clearly visible.
"What is that thing?" Tony asked after climbing up from the floor. He was still recovering from his injuries, so his condition wasn't great, and after such a jolt, he leaned weakly against the wall.
"This is the Zombie I mentioned to you earlier. They are the monsters of this world that spawn automatically in dark environments. Did you forget to place torches when you built this house?" Fang Bie quickly figured out the cause.
However, he remembered something and added, "You didn't know how to craft torches, and it's my fault for not explaining it clearly. Let's leave it at that for now; we'll take this monster out and talk inside!"
Fang Bie took another careful look behind the door. The house wasn't very large, and he could see three or four Zombies vaguely looming behind the door. As for Little White or Creepers, he didn't see any, so he assumed there were none.
"Does... does this monster have any weaknesses? Is it like the legends in the East, with a body so hard that it's impervious to blades and arrows?" As a scholar who understood most world languages, Yinsen had done some research on such matters.
He quickly thought of the terrifying creatures rumored in the books he had read and asked with a slight tremor in his voice.
Fang Bie smiled. "Don't worry, these monsters can be eliminated. Listen to my command; when it comes out, we'll hack it to death together!"
He took the crafting table out of his inventory, placed it on the ground, and used the remaining materials to make two stone swords, handing one to each of them.
"These monsters aren't actually strong. If each of us attacks it once, it should be enough to kill them. But there is one thing you must be careful of: never let them hit you. I won't turn into a monster if they attack me, but if they attack you, there's a high chance you'll be assimilated into a Zombie!"
Fang Bie was basically convinced that he possessed the same cockroach-like constitution as Steve, but Tony and Yinsen didn't. Their actual status was more like two Villagers with consciousness.
In Minecraft, Villagers possessed the same abilities as Steve, but they were incredibly fragile; if attacked by a Zombie, they would be directly converted into one.
Tony and Yinsen took the swords and nodded with grave expressions.
"We must be quick; the sun is about to set. If we don't want the mountains and plains to be filled with these monsters, we'd better get inside early!" Fang Bie warned. "Now, attack!"
