Fang Bie was an experienced Minecraft player and a former overworked corporate employee before awakening in a real, block-based Minecraft world. He had spent his first night struggling to kill sheep, craft a bed, and survive the monsters outside; by the following morning, he was already treating daylight, food, tools, and shelter as immediate priorities 1 2.

His knowledge of Minecraft mechanics gave him a critical advantage. He learned that blocks were physically meter-high objects, making a simple dirt enclosure sufficient to trap sheep, and he quickly used terrain, block placement, and crafting to establish a foothold 2.
