Preparations Before Heading to the Village

When Fang Bie woke up from his bed once again, he could already hear the somewhat noisy sound of chopping vegetables outside, along with the ceaseless, murmuring flow of water.

Yinsen was quite skilled at making breakfast, especially when they had bread, milk, and vegetables picked from the fields on hand. He could often prepare a hearty and nutritious Western-style breakfast before Fang Bie even got out of bed.

Ten days had passed, and Fang Bie was in no rush to head to the village downstream. In fact, he wasn't particularly anxious; instead, the things surrounding his house were his top priority right now.

He had spent a day working with Yinsen to build three houses. The flow of time in this world was now synchronized with the world where Tony lived, so if the playboy ever wanted to come over for a couple of days, he would at least have a place to stay.

Afterward, they spent another day expanding the warehouse and took the opportunity to move the stone portal outside, leaving a row of space for future portals.

Fang Bie had other ideas in mind; he could place things like a Nether Portal here in the future, effectively reserving a platform for portals.

This included portals like those from the Nevermine mod, as well as the Heaven, Mining World, Spirit World, Twilight Forest, and a series of others—all of which could be built here.

Fang Bie had a strong premonition that this world couldn't possibly just contain Food Craft; it should possess other mods as well. It was just that these things required him to explore or meet certain conditions rather than appearing outright.

After a day of organizing and expanding, the two of them sorted their items into various chests and hung them up using item frames, while also reserving many chests for materials they would need in the future.

As for the items brought over from Tony's side—mainly clothing, food, and daily necessities—they were placed in a small cabin to the side, which they intended to use as a kitchen and dining room.

Fang Bie finally began to research Food Craft, but because the tools for Food Craft required not only iron but also redstone, the two of them spent another day mining.

Sticking to the same iron vein tunnel as before, Fang Bie dug out a small coal vein nearby, which gave them enough coal for their needs.

As for redstone and other minerals, there had been no news yet. Fang Bie had to give up on the idea of continuing his research into Food Craft for the moment and instead spent his time luring the cows and sheep grazing on the prairie.

After the wheat matured a few days ago, Fang Bie and Yinsen had specifically cleared two areas on the prairie to raise the cows and sheep.

The two planned that when the time was right, they would move the farmland next to the house down to the prairie below. This area would then be used solely as a workspace and living space rather than for farming, though for now, they would just make do.

In the prairie below, besides the two pens for sheep and cows, Fang Bie had specifically planted two patches of wheat nearby. After placing two chests there, they wouldn't have to run all the way back up to the house whenever they needed to plant wheat or feed the animals.

The farmland at their doorstep had also been replanted with a new layout, with different plants categorized and placed accordingly. Various vegetables were planted in neat rows, which was a beautiful experience for someone with obsessive-compulsive tendencies.

"Fang Bie, are we going to that village you mentioned today?" Yinsen was very interested in the village and had been asking Fang Bie about when they would go and what the village's characteristics were for the past few days.

Fang Bie explained it to him patiently; after all, he had to be fully prepared. If this Minecraft version was too high, they might encounter things like Guardians or Iron Golems.

Fang Bie nodded. "Yeah, let's pack up after we eat and get ready to head to the village. Bring the necessary tools and food. I'll bring some stone, you bring some wood, and go grab two beds later. If everything goes as planned, we might stay in the village for a couple of days."

"Understood, I'll go prepare some food to take with us." Yinsen adjusted his glasses.

Tony had originally prepared a very sci-fi pair of laser glasses for him, but they had been damaged after arriving in this world, so he had to go back to wearing his old pair.

Fang Bie had discussed this with him, and they decided that the next time they went to the Earth where Tony lived, they would get Yinsen two pairs to keep here as spares in case something went wrong.

However, a few days ago, Yinsen told Fang Bie that he felt dizzy while wearing his glasses, as if his vision had improved, causing a discrepancy between his eyes and the lenses. He felt that his vision was much clearer when he took them off.

Could the food or even the air in this world have the effect of restoring eyesight? Fang Bie could only ponder this, but since it was a good thing regardless, he didn't dwell on it.

He tossed his bowl to the side. He had originally intended to wash the dishes, but since the property of "grease" didn't even exist in this world, it didn't look any different whether the bowls were washed or not.

Although they could still perceive the presence of fats in their food, they couldn't actually touch them in daily life, so he stopped worrying about it.

Fang Bie skipped that step and simply threw the bowl into the infinite water source nearby. The bowl would flow along the water into a hopper below and then be stored in a chest beneath it.

This way, they only needed to go to the chest below every so often to retrieve clean bowls for use, without having to worry about cleaning the table after meals.

Fang Bie turned to grab a few bones from the chest containing monster drops. They would inevitably encounter monsters in the mine, as no matter how many torches were placed, there would always be dark corners that couldn't be illuminated.

Thus, Fang Bie had accumulated nearly 30 bones, all contributed by the Skeleton Archers that existed in the narrow mine tunnels.

Speaking of which, Fang Bie touched his head with a lingering sense of fear. His head had been pierced by over a dozen arrows. Although his personal stats didn't include a "bleeding" option, having his head attacked and an arrow stuck in it was still incredibly unpleasant.

When Yinsen first saw this, he was terrified, especially when Fang Bie turned around with a helpless expression and rushed over to kill the Zombie.

However, this situation only looked scary. With his iron armor on, a single arrow from a Skeleton Archer didn't even deal half a heart of damage, so it wasn't much of a threat.

Later on, even Yinsen got used to it—seeing Fang Bie with arrows stuck in him, going to kill the monster without a word, and then continuing to work with a bunch of arrows sticking out of him until they naturally fell off and disappeared.

"Let's go!" Yinsen was much more excited than before, likely because it was his first time going out, and he grabbed his bow and arrow, ready to head down the mountain.

"There's a boat in the river below, don't run off!" Fang Bie had to remind him, following behind with the bones in hand.
