"Lucky? That's a simple name, and easy to remember." Loren repeated the name softly and nodded.
"I think it's pretty good, too," Irene replied confidently, as if she had chosen it after careful deliberation.
They had barely chatted for a few minutes when Lucky was brought out. Fortunately, aside from severe malnutrition and mild dehydration, the puppy had no other health problems, and its bones were in good condition.
"That's great news." Loren looked over the examination report and said to Irene, "Since you've decided to adopt Lucky, there are some adoption forms for you to fill out. We'll also need to arrange its vaccinations and deworming right away." As he spoke, he took a form and a pen from the nurse and naturally handed them to Irene.
He leaned over slightly and pointed to the fields that needed to be filled in. "I've marked the required fields. We mainly need your contact information, address, and a few basic commitments about pet care. As for the vaccinations..." He looked up at Irene, seeking her opinion. "If you have time today, I can give Lucky its first combination vaccine and rabies shot now. That way, it'll get basic protection as soon as possible."
Irene took the form and said readily, "Of course. Sorry for the trouble, Dr. Loren. I came here for Lucky today." Then she lowered her head and began filling it out carefully.
She wasn't a celebrity who had to keep up a disguise at all times, so she didn't provide any false information. She listed the Malibu Estate as her address. After all, she was either at school or filming these days, and in the end, Lucky would most likely be left in her parents' care.
She paused briefly when filling in her occupation, but ultimately wrote "student."
