Hearing Ranwu's voice, Akaseki quietly slipped out of the Rain Ninja's sight. Ranwu and Yakushi Nonō both reached toward him, but—
The moment the latter extended her hand, Akaseki looked over, his eyes full of wariness. Seeing this, Yakushi Nonō hurriedly slowed her movements.
They both intended to use the "Detoxification Technique," but Akaseki simply couldn't trust her. After all, the last time she had reached out from behind to touch him, she had aimed a "Chakra Scalpel" straight at his heart.
Once Yakushi Nonō realized this, she paused for a moment, waiting until Akaseki was ready before reaching over as well.
The "Detoxification Technique" wasn't the right treatment for the Giant Salamanders' poison. Even working together, the two could only ease his condition a little.
Ranwu and Yakushi Nonō had also been poisoned, though not as badly as Akaseki.
"This won't work. They have six Giant Salamanders, and at least four can still release poison. The concentration will shoot right back up—" Just before Tanuki Treasure left, Akaseki had received one final piece of intelligence.
"Do you have a way?" Ranwu asked gravely.
Ranwu couldn't think of anything else they could do—
But she knew that if Akaseki had no ideas left, he would rather charge in recklessly than huddle here talking about how hopeless things were.
Sure enough, Akaseki nodded. "One—but just like before, it might not work. If it does, I should be able to push ninety percent of the poison gas out of this mountain hollow!"
And if it failed?
Akaseki didn't elaborate. He only said it "might not work." Clearly, if it failed, he would have nothing else to fall back on.
"Then—let's wait a little longer!" Ranwu said, looking toward the exit.
With visibility so poor, the Rain Ninja didn't dare venture deeper rashly.
